No, it is the decision of the DA or solicitor to press charges on any crime, not the decision of the victim. Prosecution will often take the victim's wishes into account for smaller crimes because if the victim doesn't care then it saves them a lot of work. But I very very rarely hear this happen for rapes. The fact that the DAs office would refuse to press charges on a statutory rape case is ridiculous

Big agree. Is it not insane to you that "just don't fuck" is apparently a sexist answer to "what if I don't want/can't have a child?" Zero personal responsibility among a lot of people.
