9	German popstar avoids prison even though she knowingly infected one man with HIV and 'attempting' to infect two more men. Thanks for the research. I don't mean to belittle that, but it doesn't apply to Germany. In France, they were tried for "poisoning", and it sounds as if England actually has laws against spreading HIV. This lady was convicted of Grievous Bodily Harm, a charge roughly one step higher than aggravated assault. I don't mean to imply that she doesn't deserve jail time, I'm not sure I specifically have an opinion on that. She was convicted of GBH, I'm fairly sure the same conviction in the states, with no priors would net a short sentence. This is Germany, where they don't throw people in jail for profit. That's an easy conclusion to draw based on plenty of evidence. But my point is that, statistically, the group is too small to be meaningful. Those 16 CEO's are above the average. But roughly 234 men are above average too. I could cherry pick 16 male CEO's who got raises. Or 32, or 64. Some companies did well in 2009. I'm no statistician, but with a sample size of 16, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the margin of error is big enough to drive a CEO's paycheck through.
