It works for some people and not for others. I dropped out of college at 19 and now make more money than all but one of my friends/people I know, including an attorney. If you are business savvy, work your ass off, and realize that time is fkin precious, you can teach yourself anything. If you are good at something - but lack some of the fundamentals - then go into higher ed. Depending on the job, you could just do it yourself. That's what I did.
