Dude, this is something I have absolutely been behind since I first learned the truth about how the genders are perceived in this world. I don't bind myself to masculinity, and maybe I do see myself as "feminine", but that's a label rather than something I actively identify with. I just say that so people can understand what I am better. In fact, I've rejected masculinity and femininity and accepted humanity. Literally everybody that's functioning the way a regular human being does can do what t…

Agreed. I'm glad that she isn't immediately trying to leap at the opportunity of hating "tHe OpPrEsSoRs", and like you said, recognizing that having a hatred towards men is indeed a flaw and not something to embrace, the same way hatred towards women is a flaw and not something to embrace. It just sucks that egalitarianism isn't to a point where men can openly have these kinds of conversations, because even if they did have the intention of wanting to stop those thoughts instead of letting them …

I just realized I accidentally posted an uncensored duplicate of the "straight women, sexuality is a choice" screenshot. Will likely delete this post.

And that's exactly the way it should be! Misogyny is used as a weapon against innocent men, when it really shouldn't be. Why can't some people just, like, hate the creeps, rapists, and pedophiles or something??? Actual misogynists suck, though. Bad.

Right? Contrary to popular belief, not all of us like fighting this stuff...

This is just a femcel talking point. I stopped taking these seriously, but it does still make me uncomfortable hearing this. The comments here are very intelligent.

I genuinely can't even take her seriously. It's like the entire point of what she was saying was just to get a rise out of you. The best way to irritate these kinds of people is to just give them a taste of their own medicine. "Men are awful." Okay, women are worse. (this is solely to get them riled up, no gender is worse than the other) "WTH?! You can't say that! That's so rude and sexist!" I'm just matching your energy. "But I have a reason to hate men! It's all my personality is because I hav…

I don't think this is "whining about men" as a whole. It seems more like they're wanting closure and solidarity with other victims of the abusive situation that they seem to have found themselves in. I understand that people can lie on the internet, but there's a difference between man-hating and having a reasonable problem with a singular man who's caused you pain. I could be wrong, though.

I think they're referring to the women who commented on them opening the door for them.

You seem to be some sort of ragebaiter. If you're not, I implore you to see past the constricting values of traditional gender roles and "norms". Telling men that they can "handle this situation" in just about every context/circumstance is part of the reason why some of us are here today. Not me, but others, for sure. Have a little empathy. It's not a case of "men strong, women weak". Edit: I looked at your post history. It's surprising that you'd say something like this.

Honestly, I believe in true equality. Either men and women both get it or they don't. How about everyone starts in a prison and earns their way out? Oh, but then the "inherently innocent woman" will complain about that since these femcels think that they don't harbor SOME kind of nature inside of them that makes them just as bad as the men they claim to hate. Yeah, no. I disagree. Nobody should be born into a prison and earn their way out. Men and women are the same. It's time we act like it.

It wasn't any better with Jeff Baena either. All of those "Aubrey Plaza is single again" jokes made me want to vomit. And people think men receive more empathy.

"We're asking for the double standards to stop" as if men aren't constantly facing them as well. I mean, we could say the same thing to her and then she'd just try to deflect by saying that "they affect women more, so men's issues will come second until ours are heard", which is already pretty radical. It certainly isn't all women. I'm not a misogynist. And whoever you are, you know whether or not you're one of these women. But to these kinds of women - stop acting like you're the only one affec…

This was absolutely amazing to read - I agree with everything you're saying. I've seen so much transphobia that's directly related to misandry. It does affect women, especially trans women, just as much as it affects us guys. We can all agree that this needs to stop.

And this is exactly why we need a safe space away from them. To any bitter misandrist reading my comment - What, did that offend you or something? What's that? You're upset we need a safe space away from you? Imagine how we feel when you say that and generalize us.

You are such a wonderful mother, and it seems like you'd see your child the same even if he was female. That kind of equality, fairness, and empathy are what we need in this world.

I don't think it looks horrible, honestly. I liked the image. I just hated how this person couldn't be allowed to say that they can't wait for the men's day version to drop... if it ever does.

Their count was at 0 whenever I checked it. I hope this comment doesn't come off as rude, I just wanted to clarify. I'm not sure if the commenter just doesn't upvote their own comments, or if they did get downvoted but knowing the world, I'm leaning heavily towards the latter.

Yeah, women have absolutely no place saying what a real man is or isn't. It's asinine to tell people whose shoes you don't wear how to wear their own.

This might be controversial in this sub, but I totally agree with you. Women should have a day to be celebrated - and so should men. My idea of equality is having something for both sexes and all genders that can be universally enjoyed by either one. I think that women should absolutely have a platform to speak about their issues, and be heard, and having a women's day is perfect for that. Men should absolutely have a platform to speak about their issues as well, and be heard, too. Having a men'…

It's an admirable mindset to have. We shouldn't normalize or glorify apathy towards men, or treat "it's just natural" as an excuse. We're all here for each other and we need to condition ourselves to truly be equal. I view you as my equal as well, and I assume we're the same gender. :) Thank you for your empathy.

I know you weren't asking me, but I genuinely do my best to treat both genders equally. Men deserve to be seen as just as precious as women.

Agreed. Female participation shows that it's not as one sided as it seems. We need to stick together as men, women, and others.

I honestly don't believe that men or women are different - they're two modes of humans, but the brain can work the exact same way and that's one of the things that really matters. We're just taught to be different and that fosters a divide between us. I also believe men and women should be treated the same way. Make no mistake, men and women are absolutely allowed to be different, in my opinion. I just believe that fundamentally, we're not.

I feel like we really get each other. If it helps, I mostly feel the same way you do and I even cry myself to sleep sometimes thinking of this, except I'm also wishing more for women's reconsideration of our gender as a whole. It's not fun for our kind.
