Lmfao if you can get me some proof that GII is by definition unequal by all means go ahead. If the MMA is abnormally high, it should be considered in the calculation of GII because it is emblematic of poor reproductive health. Now as for your second point. Why didn't you bother to quote the whole page? The age is not biased lol. It is tinkered to take into account biological advantage that women have to live longer. The indicators are transformed into indices on a scale of 0 to 1 using the same …

There is no corresponding component for men because the index is not comparing women to men, but comparing the status of women in one country versus another in a different country. The five-year discrepancy that you are talking about makes no sense in relation to the calculation of GDI. GDI is comparing two numbers only: the development index in a given country for women and the value for men. They are not "comparing ages".

That's because you can use the GDI (as I believe your study mentions) to find practically the same thing. And for the last time: I don't need to address your survey because it isn't credible.

It's a good question, and I'm afraid I don't really have an answer for it. I suppose it has more to do with culture than anything else because once we "eliminate" that culture component the numbers of engineers based on gender revert back to a 50-50 ratio.

Thx for the upvote. I disagree with your point of view, but I appreciate the reasoning. So I'll reciprocate the upvote. Btw, everything that you mention about our court system being messed up I agree with to a certain extent. There shouldn't be a double standard for health insurance, and custody/divorce rules need to be revisited (though I don't think this has to do with rampant feminism) Abortion and circumcision have nothing to do with women's rights, however. People should have the freedom …

It's ironic that on the left of that article it says: - Media Coverage(0) -Reader Comments(0) And the article itself states that this is a proposition, meaning it hasn't been adopted by any credible sources. You can't really go against what I said above...

Here a few more facts from our reputable source (the U.N.): While the world has achieved progress towards gender equality and women’s empowerment under the Millennium Development Goals (including equal access to primary education between girls and boys), women and girls continue to suffer discrimination and violence in every part of the world. Here is the proof: Globally, 750 million women and girls were married before the age of 18 and at least 200 million women and girls in 30 countries have u…

Except that there are 195 countries in the world. The study that you mentions also says this: We found that low levels of human development are typically associated with disadvantages for girls and women, while medium and high levels of development are typically associated with disadvantages for boys and men. Countries with the highest levels of human development are closest to gender parity, albeit typically with a slight advantage for women Gender parity is only barely attainable in countries …

Just so you know. The reason for which there are more engineering jobs for men is that there is a stigma around female engineers. The abnormally high amount of male engineers is not a reflection on differing passions within the genders, but rather a lack of an engineering culture for women. There have been steps to reverse that, and it is beginning to manifest itself in American schools. Dartmouth, for example, graduated more female engineers than male ones in the class of '18. Also, the idea th…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
