Statistically, accumulated wealth is very unlikely to last more than a few generations, though there are some exceptions. "A US study by Merrill Lynch’s private banking arm this year found that, in two out of three cases, family wealth did not outlive the generation following the one that created it. In 90 per cent of cases, it was exhausted by the end of the third generation – illustrating the “clogs to clogs” adage." I actually know quite a large number of very wealthy individuals who plan to …

I care about partner count only in the sense that I find extremities in this regard off-putting or, at the very least, something to be cautious about. For anything well within the normal deviation or close to that, I really couldn't care less. As a bisexual female, I do not find high partner counts attractive in either sex. Depending on how "promiscuous" they were, I could range from finding it offputting to a mild niggle that I would easily overlook - but quite frankly, I can't think of many oc…

Why do you need an end goal or purpose? I don't. I was simply attempting to strike up conversation with you on the nature of evolution, since I got the impression from you that you were claiming there was a grand purpose behind all of it. I believe that life has no objective meaning, but I do not find this reason to stop eating or marinate in existential depression. If anything, I find it inspiring. The fact that I am so insignificant and that my time on this Earth carries no real purpose or rea…

Your sex drive and the pleasure you get from sex exist entirely to encourage you to produce offspring and ensure the next generation. This is very true. I was looking at it more from a philosophical perspective. All these biological urges and cues are the mechanism by which we pass on our genes, but what, precisely, is this mechanism for in the first place? Where is it all heading? Why is it heading there? What, in the end, is the meaning of this drive to reproduce and all this competition? Why …

"Competition" implies that there is some sort of eventual winner. Evolution is simply a biological phenomenon observable in nature. It is void of all meaning or grand purpose, as these are inherently anthromorphic concepts. Even the one so-called "end goal" of your life to pass on your genes, is ultimately arbitrary. Whether or not you reproduce is laughably irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. People may take comfort in feeling that they have "won" some sort of futile contest by having chi…

It's strange to me...there appears to be this pervasive stereotype that Aspies are less emotional/more logical than the average individual, when my experience is entirely the opposite. I've met quite a lot of people on the spectrum over the years and it seems to me that mental disorders, especially anxiety disorders, are a lot more common in Aspies than the general population. They're just different in how they process and react to stimulus, which I suppose is why they can be perceived as being …

I find debating religion extremely dull for this reason, but I thought to include it since many people find it interesting.

Ah, well, that makes it easier. There are a few for religion - /r/debatereligion being the main one, as well as /r/DebateAnAtheist and /r/DebateAChristian. For politics - /r/politics, /r/POLITIC, /r/DebateAnarchism, /r/DebateCommunism, /r/debateacommunist, /r/DebateFascism, /r/LibertarianDebates, /r/politicaldiscussion...there are loads. /r/FeMRADebates is the only one I'm aware of with a vaguely similar theme as this one. There's also /r/PunchingMorpheus, which is quiet but often has some interesting discussion taking place. However, it was specifically created as a reaction to the popular /r/everymanshouldknow post about TRP, so it obviously has bias. Might be worth taking a look at /r/TiADiscussion, too. Are you just looking for debate surrounding gender issues/dating, or is it more of a broad interest in all types of debate …

Except that women manipulating men ends up being treated as: she's strong and independent, and he's a weak little bitch who only wanted sex anyway. Which, I agree, is a problem.

TRP receives a lot of hate because the anger stage is what many get their first impression of To nitpick here - I don't think the "stages of red pill" justification is going to convince a lot of people. Just about any time you visit the subreddit, about 70-80% of all the top stories are complaining about feminists/women in general, or nitpicking at some terrible article someone found that proves how awful and degenerate females today are. There are some gems here and there which, in my view, giv…

Completely agree with that. I think there are ways to potentially minimize the risks of a situation, but they never come anywhere near erasing those risks. The difference in typical Redpill/Bluepill opinion on this seems to come a lot down to how you respond to a person who didn't take the precautions that one time and got into a shitty situation.

Certainly no one who thinks it's wrong to advise young women not to get wasted around strangers then go alone with strange men or you might get raped is operating under the notion that th eworld is a dangerous place and strangers might treat you poorly I agree with that. To claim that women have no control whatsoever over minimizing their chances of being sexually assaulted is disingenuous. I think you can take personal responsibility over your own safety and still sort of expect people not to g…

Perhaps. But I'm not entirely sure how accurate your assertion that Bluepillers think the world can't be cruel or that people can't be dangerous is. The belief that everyone is your friend who's obligated to care about your feelings is something I have never seen in all my lurkings on the TBP. I generally treat people with a basic level of courtesy (unless they've given me reason not to) and expect others to do the same. Aside from that I don't presume a stranger is either my friend or evil psyc…

Is this a philosophical divide between TRP and BP types?...The apparent TRP view is that the that the world is dangerous and strangers won't care about you or your feelings and aren't necessarily going to behave as if they are beholden to. I'm not "Redpill" at all and I completely agree with this. I'm betting other Bluepillers/Purplepillers will come along and agree, too. The problem I see with this sub, and the entirety of the debate between "red" versus "blue", is that there is no clear divide…

I'd argue the average person is not as aware, and this behavior is not called out nearly enough. We're in complete agreement that it does not receive anywhere near enough attention - I never once attempted to claim that it wasn't still highly problematic. However, I think that people are (very, very slowly) beginning to wake up. Whilst I do not personally agree with a rather large portion of RP ideology, I think it's a very understandable reaction to some of the modern issues men experience.

Um I suspected the RPers will say it happens a lot anf the BPers will deny it which will spark a debate, what's so wrong about that? This gets debated a lot in here. I've not seen Bluepillers ever really argue that such sentiments are not widely found in our culture (Cosmopolitan, Elle, and similar smut being some examples), but that it does not justify what they perceive to be immoral behaviour from the other side (TRP) - two wrongs don't make a right, as it were. Redpillers will argue that thi…

Both sexes are equally capable of manipulation and deceit - these are unfortunate but nevertheless human traits. I'm not sure whether you actually expect anyone to look at that article and contribute anything other than, "well, that's...shit". You are using this subreddit to feed into and justify your own mental illness and insecurity. Quite frankly, it is unfair on everyone here.

Does it have to be either/or? I find both TRP and TBP to spout a significant percentage of nonsense and vitriol - enough to dissuade me from fully identifying with either of them, despite the fact that I think both sides can make good points at times. Reading this subreddit has sort of cemented my view that some sort of middle-ground, in which there's no emotional "commitment" to a side or group bias, is probably the best place to be.

men think with their dicks Well, whilst I appreciate the humor in that sentiment, I've never agreed with it. Just because men value sex as being an extremely important facet of life for them doesn't undermine whatever else they find important, too.

I can understand how some would enjoy it. If I may share the opposite thoughts: I spent years of my life so terrified of sexual attention from men that I would intentionally make myself look as "asexual" as possible. I never once attempted to blame the males themselves for this, of course - I knew that it was entirely my problem and mine alone, and that to fault them for finding the opposite sex attractive would be utterly ridiculous. Still, it was an issue that greatly interfered with my life a…

It is egalitarian, but they're clearly not as feminist as other nations (see here). The Dutch are doing comparatively better than some countries, such as Italy and Germany (approx 1.42 fertility rate). Yes, I believe you've linked that article several times now in this subreddit. Quite a good read, but mostly concerned with the rather mundane and intuitive fact that careers are not the end-all, be-all source of fulfillment in life. Both men and women would do well to heed this. They're definitel…

Dutch women have among the lowest rates of full time employment of any westernized nation I'm aware, yes. I think I made a point of implying that in my post. Raising a family on the salary of part-time work, along with the daycare assistance and maternity leave that is provided there, means that it is an extremely ideal country to have children in; you are handed all the tools that make it as easy as possible. And yet, women still actively choose to have fewer or no children. Perhaps this makes …

The Dutch example may provide a way out of this trap. But the fertility rate in the Netherlands is still significantly below replacement level (hovering at around 1.76 births per woman - even lower than in the US), despite it being an incredibly free country with very good maternal benefits and that doesn't pressure women into the workforce. Declining birthrates in developed countries is an issue that most definitely poses significant economic problems, however it is an issue that we were always…

They have absurd ability to ignore evidence. Most BPers don't even buy the gatekeeper(sex/commitment) dynamic. Despite it being such common sense that there's evidence literally everywhere you look, and the counter-evidence strawman being that eye-roll inducing cliche as hell attack on the literal title rather than the meaning of the term. This is a rather sloppy strawman of its own you've just made, although I happen to somewhat agree with the gatekeeper concept in RP theory.

Most Bluepillers I've come across on this subreddit have appeared to have no issue with the concept of there being typical neurological variations between the sexes. I would hazard a guess and say that their problem with TRP generally stems from other areas.

Your Empathizing Quotient is 9. Baron-Cohen (2003) suggests that this means "you have a lower than average ability for understanding how other people feel and responding appropriately". Your Systemizing Quotient is 69. Baron-Cohen (2003) suggests that this means "you have a very high ability for analysing and exploring a system. Three times as many people with Asperger Syndrome score in this range, compared to typical men, and almost no women score this high". Bearing in mind, I have been formal…

That study says absolutely nothing about your claim that women who don't have children are going to be "punished" by biology and are inevitably depressed/suffer "psychological penalties". There have actually been studies that assert the precise opposite - that lifelong childless men and women are actually happier than parents, even empty-nesters.

Garbage. You cannot go against biology. If you are barren or haven't spent your time with children you will be swallowing depression pills like there is no tomorrow. If you are a women your biology will punish you for being a genetic dead end. Do you have any evidence to back up this ridiculous claim?

Just like a man that only seeks individual gratification and is not willing to live for other people. Yes. Not being feminine is a consequence of putting yourself way above everyone else. How did you figure that? I'm having a lot of trouble understanding why a woman who isn't stereotypically feminine or a man who isn't stereotypically masculine is incapable of caring for others or seeking more than individual gratification. They simply are who they are - but they can still love and support, and …

Although I personally take no issue with the concept of a SMV and actually agree with it to a certain extent, I think it's perfectly understandable why others are entirely averse to the theory, particularly with how TRP subreddit as a whole phrases it. When one speaks in generalities, most of the claims within SMV seem fairly benign and agreeable as a whole, but any grains of truth the community's opinions hold are sadly unnoticed due what actually goes on, day to day, within it. When you go ont…

It seems to me that the way in which you are using the word hypergamy is far too lenient. Let's say a man in search of a long term relationship goes on several dates with a woman - she's attractive and perfectly nice overall, but as time goes on it becomes evident that they have very little in common, no shared interests and consequently are running out of things to discuss. So the man decides to stop dating her - he "rejects" her. According to your definition, would this not quality as hypergam…

Of course I am. Are you seriously saying that you recognize a better way to attract someone but you refuse to do it? Well, anecdotally, I can say that I have quite uncommon sexual preferences in some regards (of which I won't go into here) - I am completely aware of the fact that I am in a minority and that it isn't "optimal" since most people are not going to have the same preference, and yet I don't have any desire to repress this preference purely for the sake of attracting as many people as …

Yes of course, you will be downvoted if you go into TRP sub saying "I can be submissive to women and that's just as effective in attracting them!". Because the whole basis of TRP is that the most effective way to attract the most amount of women (and best quality women) is NOT "to submit to dominant women". I wasn't talking about going into TRP and claiming that submitting to women is the "most effective way to attract women" - that is something entirely different. You're assuming that holding a…

I have absolutely no issue with submissive women or men who prefer them. Submission is neither wrong nor damaging - it is simply a sexual preference that many people share and that harms no one. I think what you're most likely seeing is Bluepillers take issue with the fact that at times, Redpillers can seem quite intolerant of people who do not fit the submissive/dominant gender paradigms, and it has unfortunately leaked into the community and become a very prominent attitude - too prominent to …

"Fought"? Certainly not, no - at least, not in my view. I have absolutely nothing against traditional gender roles or those who prefer to live their lives based on them. In those circumstances, they have the opportunity to be both supportive and fulfilling for those involved. The only time I would take issue with them is if those roles were forced upon those for whom they are simply not a good fit, or if individuals were made to feel ostracized for this. I believe gender roles should neither be …

I've not seen examples of that occurrence for myself, so I will not completely deny its existence. However, I think the accusation that Bluepillers are only against TRP because they're virgins/overweight/in denial/haven't read the sidebar is as ridiculous as the accusation that all Redpillers are deeply misogynistic, woman-hating nerds dwelling in their mothers' basements with nothing better to do.

That article about Dutch women seems to get brought up a lot by Redpillers. It's a good example of how using careers as a primary source of happiness and fulfillment is ineffective at best. But I don't quite understand how it applies to this discussion - a discussion about gender roles and the enforcement of them. Rates of childlessness are rather high there, as well as rates of divorce, single parenting, and low rates of people getting married in the first place. It's a very free country that n…

What TRP says is something along the lines of "Improve yourself and stop blaming women or better men for your shortcomings. Be always ready to cut ties off with a SO and learn how to depend on yourself. Be wary of women and of what they say compared to how they act." This is what I meant in my original post. This sounds like perfectly reasonable and agreeable advice. For both genders. But if this was truly all TRP was, then wouldn't just about everyone be Red Pill? Can one really claim that the …

Hmm...I would not claim that the only reason people argue against the Red Pill is due to their total refusal to acknowledge that men and women are different. Your assertion that everyone who disagrees or contends against The Red Pill is just down to them being unwilling to accept reality seems highly fallacious - you've set yourself up for a situation in which debate is impossible due to the fact that you're convinced that anyone who differs from your opinion just doesn't understand or is in den…

Yes, very much so. I most definitely agree and acknowledge that there are innate differences between men and women stemming from neurobiology and sexual dimorphism - that is, I don't think the differences are purely or even mostly down to one's environment. There are, however, going to be an eclectic range of individual anomalies and exceptions to this rule. That does not erase the rule itself, rather it merely suggests that there is going to be some variance and that one should not attempt to f…
