That seems like a case that is of much more relevance to a discussion of men's rights. My primary issue with the post at hand is that it hasn't been shown to be legitimate, it lacks any context like the incident you just brought up, and the justifications for it seem to rely almost wholly on hypothetical responses and outcomes. I think that's one way to interpret it. Looking strictly at what was written I would still argue that it doesn't qualify as ad hominem because no conclusions are explicitly drawn from calling into question Thievishmetal69's character and level of maturity. Maybe I'm not familiar with the argument that women are incapable of criminal behavior, so it strikes me as tilting at windmills to try and disprove it. I wasn't necessarily defending them having insulted you. The misapplication of logical fallacies irks me. Although it might be pedantic to point it out to people I do so in the hopes that they don't misapply them in the future.

notanothercirclejerk's comment doesn't qualify as ad hominem, it's simply an insult.

How is this at all related to men's rights?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
