I've only experienced stage 3 in one relationship, and that was when I was in a very vulnerable spot after my marriage (20 years) ended. My advice would be, if you want a relationship to last, you have got to be willing to argue. To keep being vulnerable, to have the difficult conversations, and to take the risk that the relationship will therefore end sooner rather than later. Sometimes it does, and that hurts. But at least it doesn't get dragged out and smothered in lies and bs. My experience …

I wonder if some of them used to be popular in high school? Maybe don't realise that acting like a brat doesn't impress women as much as it impressed guillible teenage girls?

I think you're taking that FAR too literally. It's like saying "bud" to a guy you don't like much.

Oh dear lord... oh, and when you look at their profile and see they can't string a sentence together, and do nothing but drink and watch sport, so you say - as kindly as possible - that you don't think you're a good fit, and they get mildly shirty about it... "how do u no? U don't even no me lol"

I did internet dating a while back (never again). There were some... ahem... rather "aesthetically challenged" guys literally writing "no fat birds" in their profile (yup, British). And not just the odd weirdo, either - I'd say about 15% of the guys that would be DAMN lucky to get a lass on the pretty side of average looking were very specific about only wanting to date attractive women. Just my subjective experience, of course.

I have met a guy who I had so much chemistry with I would've done him right there, but only once. It was a really unsettling experience, since we were working at the same company and he was married. We were introduced, locked eyes and that was IT. We were both mumbling "Um... hi... hi..." like a pair of idiots and studiously avoided the FUCK out of each other for the duration of my assignment. But I'm not sure if he was a Chad, or if that was just unusually strong personal chemistry. I HAVE met …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
