Don't get my wrong though there are a bunch of shit blockchain projects out there and alot/most coins won't survive the test of time (they'll be abondoned blockchains and hence obsolete). But those which do survive will certainly pave way for future blockchain projects. Remember blockchain technology doesn't have to be applied to money. The more exciting applications of the technology will be in local, network and AI security in my opinion. Maybe there will be a way to stop malware from infectin…

A few quick points as my phone battery is low The Tether situation is far from the the only cause of the recent meteoric rise in BTC price. Blockchain technology is advancing fast and groups are attempting to innovate left right and centre. People claimed the rises from cents to dollars and from dollars to tens of dollars were meteoric also but this is the process of price discovery. Blockchains like Bitcoins are suedo annonymous, they aren't designed to be fully annonymous. Multiple blockchain …

Pretty funny how most people who draw parralels between bitcoin and tulips don't know much/anything about blockchain technology itself.

Bear in mind the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies has nothing to do with their market price. These are two independent processes. Blockchains run with or without a fiat valuation. Unlike any fiat currency. They are technologies, and the promising cryptos are trying to create decentralised forms of the services we use on a regular basis and also entirely new concept and ways of doing things. Saying that there are alot of useless shit coins which shouldn't be touched with a barge pole. Th…

It's just that when it goes it down, it doesn't go down as much as it goes up meaning a bull market. Ebs and flows in price are due to said market mechanics.

I don't understand, what context are you replying to? My post stands as it is. Please elaborate.

Bitcoin has the blockchain with the largest network effect and is heavily secured by the sheer number of global miners. If by bitcoin no blockchain yes you are referring to private blockchains which were once discussed within banking groups then you are on the wrong side of the fence. Private blockchains will never match the open source and scale of public blockchains. These are tools for the masses however corporations can harness the technologies without having to create a private, in comparis…

Digital (Hot wallets) which are hosted online as part of a service is not the wisest place to store crypto long term. Look at the hacks which occur to poorly secured services. Offline wallets can be a "buried cache" if you chose to bury it and it can be physical in whatever form you chose to store your recovery phrases (mnemonics). Also cryptocurrencies are non-counterfeitable by their very nature, ironically unlike physical items which are faked every day. No one ever received a 'fake' bitcoin …

It's not "too late to get in". But buying now maybe not the wisest choice. From my years of trading I've learnt to not buy on the huge green candles, which is where the vast majority of traders suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out). No process has enough energy to continue its trajectory indefinitely. Bitcoins price will retrace eventually, upon those retraces it is the better time to buy. But trying to figure out high the highs will go and low the lows will go is the hard part. Easier said tha…

We were born into a life where the price of the vast majority of resources were already determined. The price of precious metals, eg Gold price discovery has occured over tens/hundreds of thousands of years as still continues today. Bitcoin is a technology which was given birth to in 2009. People fail to realise that the bitcoin blockchain has solved a problem which was unsolvable since the beginning of time - how to decentralise power and decision making (Google Bezantine Generals Problem). Ult…

Makes complete sense. One time my mother told me during a argument over something trivial that I was the reason that my father passed away. I left the room in disbelief whilst holding my tongue so I wouldn't say something I regret. He passed away from complications from liver cancer due to being an alcoholic for most of his life. I couldn't sleep for days after that what she said. When I did I'd wake with my fists clenched in stress. The troubling part for me is my mother didn't seem phased by h…
