Why are we even looking at this garbage website with all these pop ups? I don’t care what some guy thinks. Let’s all read real books instead.

Therapy is not the end-all answer. My ex was in therapy for years and only got worse. Real change comes from both the willingness and ABILITY to change and frankly most people just don’t have it.

I’m not saying that marriage is for everyone, but you should try therapy so you can stop carrying around your parents’ trauma.

My husband often takes a shit in the living room. I don’t nag him about using the toilet, I just take care of it. Then I think about all the dead baby seals, clubbed to death, for their beautiful pelt. hugs bag full of poop I’ll never take these moments for granted.

I don’t think this has much to do with the HV-ish man she’s dating and everything to do with how angry you are with her because you’ve absorbed some of her behavior; how disappointed you are with her and probably with yourself. -your friendly neighborhood armchair psychologist

I read "The Wonder of Boys" this week and I highly recommend it u/kreutzwortraetzel It's very eye-opening to how boy brains work and what motivates them, and how we're shifting as a society away from the things that make little boys into good men.

I’m only going to be strong for a strong man that is my equal. I’m not carrying the load for the whole family, my man. You’ve got muscles too.

This whole "strong woman" thing is so ass-backwards. When they say they like a strong woman what they mean is that they love for you to take care of all your shit, all of their shit, and all the household shit... because you're so "strong". If you actually stand up for yourself, you're not "strong", you're a bitch and demanding, etc etc etc.

This literally made me tear up because I still feel guilty about kicking my ex out when my daughter was 1.5 years old. She still asks about him and talks about him, and its like a knife in the heart, but I knew that having him around was way, way worse then not having a father around at all.

Yuuuuuup. There’s no advice here. Just rise above. A therapist once told me that 90% of people are just dysfunctional and you just have to try to find the other 10% and try to fill your life with those people. I try to tell my kids this too… you don’t have to be friends with everyone. Not everyone will make a good friend.

My little dude is 7 now, and here are things I do. Only time will tell if they work! -Chores are for everyone in the house. Including him. In fact, he does more than his little sister because he's older. We all do chores because we all live here and we help each other out. -We read books about successful women, female scientists, etc. When he asks why this is important, I tell him that for a long time women were not treated equally but I know that he will always treat women fairly. -He has learn…

Even before I learned about FDS, I realized that porn was causing dudes to try to choke me like without even asking first!!? This never happened when I was in my early 20s and in my mid to late 30s more than one guy just went for it without the decency to even talk about it first? Hard pass. That was when I realized that porn is ruining men and that I'd never date a guy who was really into porn again.

I don't think you'll be single forever, but its definitely the right mindset. Work on yourself + your business, find hobbies and friends that keep you busy and growing, have a baby by yourself if you want to or can afford it. FWIW, it was my bf that turned me onto FDS because he'd been reading it for years, and I met him on Hinge. However, I only met a handful of guys on Hinge in the few years of being on it because yes, 99.9% trash.

If he's been abusive in any way, please file for a restraining order. I'm happy to help. This will make moving away from him easier as he'll be in violating if he tries to contact you. It'll also give you leverage re: your child so you can keep the both of you safe. Feel free to message me if you need more help. And when he starts to plead with you and make threats memorize the words, "I am not responsible for your behavior."

This is so, so true. I made this mistake in my late 20s, and had children with a LVM. I've been rid of him for years now and now I'm in my late 30s and hotter by multitudes. When I was finally rid of him, I deeply understood the idea of "if its between THAT and being single forever, I choose forever single." Since being single, my business took off, I've saved a ton more money, my kids are happy and healthy, I lost 40 lbs, I've hiked to Machu Picchu, etc. Only when I was totally OK with being si…

I read it a few years ago before I found FDS and before I thought porn in itself was bad... so it didn't register with me. (But by then I had already learned that I will never date a man who is really into porn because it ruins men and it ruins sex.)

This book has a lot of great info about sexual desire and healthy relationships in general, including how to deal with the stress cycle and meditation which could be affecting the sex you're having. BUT... The thing that really stood out to me is she talks about how women who are in abusive relationships often describe the sex they are having as mind-blowing and they genuinely believe that their partner somehow has a magic dick that makes the abuse worth it. This aligns with my experience and ot…

My sense is that the women in this sub are not at all princesses in a tower. My own feeling is that there are privileged women that were taught from a very young age the way they ought to be treated. They are the ones that married HVM the first go ‘round. Perhaps there’s some subset of these women that are the “princesses” where they grew up wealthy and don’t have much ambition. I think the women in the sub, myself included, are women that had to teach ourselves how people ought to treat us. Man…

The self esteem bit is so, so crucial because most of us grew up with fathers who were chosen by our mothers when they were in their 20s and didn’t know any better. So, we don’t actually know what it means to be truly treated like we matter. It’s been a huge work in progress for me for many years. https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/njtyep/weekly_fds_checkin/gzll5bz/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

Y’all, I’ve been deeply thinking about the difference between demanding/asking for respect (or kindness or equality) and simply expecting it. It’s taken me like 10+ years of therapy to really understand the difference. -when you’re fighting for or demanding respect it’s under the assumption that if you do or say the right thing then the person on the other end is finally going to give it to you. When you’re expecting it then it’s just something you deeply believe you deserve so if you don’t get …
