Just because someone isn’t convicted doesn’t mean they didn’t do it. I sped to work today. I didn’t get pulled over or ticketed for it, so does that mean I didn’t speed? The victim got scared with all the media attention and declined to testify. On top of that, he paid her like $4 million and released an apology stating that he could see how she might think it was non-consensual.

I sometimes get the wrath because I load luggage into my car when I pickup at the airports. Me - Here, let me grab that for you! W - I got it. It’s heavy! Me - Awesome. I’m not asking because I don’t think you can, I’m asking because I don’t want you to wreck my car as you struggle to put your shit in.

So you’re full of shit then. Wow, didn’t see that coming, not in the least. I’m shook!

That’s not how it works, homie. See, I started off with my opinion, and linked to a study that backs it up. You came in with the typical “No, you’re wrong.” I don’t know you, so as far as I know, you’re some homeless bum with an Obamaphone perusing reddit claiming to be an expert on everything and anything. You made a counter to my post, and now it’s time to either nut up or shut up, bro. Links or you’re full of shit.

Then you should be more than happy to share a link to something, anything, that will back up what you’re saying. Call me a skeptic, but without any sort of proof, all you’re sharing is your opinion, not fact.

So what you’re saying is that you’re stating your opinion, not fact then. I agree that manufactures have expanded their women’s gear, from bikes to apparel, to entice more women to ride. But that has nothing to do with the repair side of things. What industry you work in or are a customer of has nothing to do with this. Unless you can link to some proof to back up what you’re claiming, all you’re doing is stating your opinion, nothing more

Normally I agree with the posts here, but it’s a known fact that women are more likely to be quoted a higher price than a man would be. Here’s a study done on this.

Cry me a river. Even if the dude had taken her to the police station and got himself arrested, you still would think it’s bullshit. All you want is to sit around with your buddy’s and circlejerk and nod in agreement. You’re not interested in any opinion other than yours. You proved nothing, absofuckingly nothing. All you did was successfully divert and deflect until the other person gave up. That’s not winning, that’s being too fucking stupid to even begin. And for the record, I’m not sulking aw…

replying multiple times to the same comment only serves to derail the conversation. I won't be responding to any more of them. You can use an edit or you can add to a future comment. One comment thread with you is enough like pulling teeth, I don't need three separate ones going simultaneously. I’m sorry, but you’re a liar. I refuse to converse with people who openly lie.

Do you know why I don’t read your comments in their entirety? Because of bullshit like this: The crux of that question and your position is whether or not what the man in question did constituted the use of force. At this point you have put forth the assertion that he was threatening to her and that threat constitutes the use of force In order to take on that assumption and continue the logic we need justification first, which you have not provided. I continually try to bring you back to this so…

I know what you’re asking, and it shows just how little you really know about this. You’re asking for solid proof that would quantify what exactly constitutes threatening behavior, as in 1 + 1 = 2. You and I both know that there is absolutely NO laws on the books or legal definition that states X, Y, and Z must be met to constitute threatening behavior. The laws are written as such so that to qualify, it only looks at what a reasonable person would feel in the situation in question. Now, if you’…

Once again, you have avoided every point I've actually made... You haven’t made any points. or question I've actually posed, Your questions are irrelevant to the discussion. They are the equivalent of asking what color the sky is. argued against points that were never made and questions that were never asked, I think you’re reading your responses on that one, not mine. and not offered any kind of additional support for your own arguments. From here: Aggression is a word that we use every day to characterize the behavior of others and perhaps even of ourselves. We say that people are aggressive if they yell at or hit each other, if they cut off other cars in traffic, or even when they smash their fists on the table in frustration. But other harmful acts, such as the injuries that sports players receive during a rough game or the killing of enemy soldiers in a war might not be viewed by everyone as aggression. Because aggression is…

That's not what objective means. You have not addressed the point that was made. ob·jec·tive /əbˈjektiv/Submit adjective (of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. Dude, I’m done with you. It’s abundantly clear that you hate women, that men can do no wrong, and that you don’t even have a rational grasp of grammar school vocabulary. Hell, you don’t even know what “objective” means. I am curious, you’re contending that he …

I think you are correctly applying your definition to the women and misapplying it to the man based on the fact that nothing about your distinction between the two is objective. Lmao, not objective? Fuckstick, I’m looking at the actions of the two parties here, not their gender, race, social status, religion, creed, or sexual orientation. If the genders were reversed, my opinion would still be the same. What justification do you have for inferring harmful intent/potential from his non aggressive…

Was the woman's aggressive and loud behavior a threat of violence or intimidation according to the definitions you provided? Not even close. At the start of the video above, (the one I’m basing my opinion on), she is a bitch. She was curt, but that’s it. Her, (Jess, I guess? The one sitting passenger rear, PR), body language once inside non threatening. She is seated and leaning back, away from the driver. She stayed in that position for the entire video. She did not raise her voice to a level t…

Tell you what, any concrete claim I've made that you feel is unsubstantiated, throw it out. Awesome. Your whole argument is gone. It's completely unproven and uncited, you can ignore it. I have no evidence but my own reasoning. Finally something we both can agree on. It’s good to see that you’re finally admitting to it being an opinion, not fact. Do you agree that because of her threat of violence, that the video posted is evidence that she was not only trespassing but also guilty of unlawful imprisonment as well? Why are you so scared of women? Did your mommy molest you when you were younger?

Dude, just stop. You’re flipping between sitting there on the corner and driving to the police station whenever it suits you. I think we are at the point where you’re going to have to start proving your points. Up until now it’s been talk, talk, talk. Now I need to see the proof. Can you cite anything that backs you up? I’ve cited my sources, and logically explained everything ad nauseam. You haven’t. It’s time to put up or shut up, homie.

That's not what a threat is. A threat is intent of imminent harm not possible harm. Every single person walking down the street can possibly harm you. They aren't guilty of criminal intimidation for that. I see you’ve obviously never heard of a little something called intimidation, have you? INTIMIDATE Means to intentionally say or do something which would cause a person of ordinary sensibilities to be fearful of bodily harm. It is not necessary to prove that the victim was actually frightened, …

/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/18 05:34 PM
1

No it was not. A threat is an expression of intent to do harm. It does not have to be cut and dried, such as “I’m gonna kick your ass!” It can be indirect, like your favorite “Bitch if you scream, I’ll kill your whole family!” And it can be implied, whereas such behavior would lead a reasonable and prudent person, (not even close to being you), to believe that violence or bodily harm was possible. What action implied he intended to cause them harm? His behavior would lead a reasonable and pruden…

So in addition to not even remotely understanding the meanings of kidnapping, rape, consent, and force your current tack is to demonstrate your complete lack of understanding of the meaning of a threat too? Obviously better than you, though. That's a bold strategy considering no threats were made, neither according to the IL criminal code nor to any rational person who understands calling a person a bitch and a cunt is not the same thing as expressing an intent to harm them (which is what a thre…

/r/PussyPassDenied14/12/18 03:38 PM

And you’re more than welcome to argue the finer points of consent at your trial. Unfortunately, though, kidnapping statutes don’t include anything about consent. Driver - Get out. Rider - No. Driver - If you don’t get out, I’m driving to the police station. Rider - No. Whelp, it’s fairly clear that consent is not given. Crystal clear, actually. And again, submission does not equal consent. If it did, then rape ceases being rape once the victim stops resisting and just lays there, allowing the ac…

Jumping into a strangers car and fusing to leave is absolutely not kidnapping. You’re absolutely right, that is not kidnapping, it’s trespassing. Come on now.. And driving straight to a cop station? Please =/ Driving someone who did not agree to go to the cop shop, nor did they give consent to being taken there, can constitute kidnapping. Nice try. Thanks for playing.

<sigh> Watching “Police Academy: Citizens on Patrol” does not mean you know everything there is to know about a citizens arrest. CA does not work that way. Unlike a police officer, private citizens are not tasked with the duty to preserve and maintain public peace, nor are they properly trained to apprehend suspected criminals. In most cases, you must find a person either in the act of committing a crime, or escaping from and freshly pursued by persons who have lawful authority to arrest that pe…

What your whole argument boils down to is that you can’t be kidnapped if you consented, right? And in this case, you’re saying that her willingness to remain in the car even after you say that you’re going to the police station constitutes consent, right? Consent does not work like that. In this situation, she had consented to have you driver her to her destination, and her destination only. By cancelling on her, your only options are as follows: Take her to her destination. Call the police and …

By staying in the car, you just consented to being taken to the police station with the understanding that at any time you were free to get out of the car if you changed your mind. So by your logic, you’re saying that it would be 100% legal to grope if you said “Hey, get out of the car or I’ll grope you.”?

Take on the new information, go do some research and improve. Ok, I will, but I don’t think you’ll like the results..... Lol. I'm the one who's getting info from TV. That's rich coming from a person who thinks police can go and arrest someone at their home with no intervention or approval from the courts based solely on the word of one individual. So your contention is that the police can only arrest someone if they have a warrant, correct? Well, to quote Trump, WRONG. See, the police have a set…

Again, you can spin it any way you want. I know the law, and I’ve talked with lawyers about a situation like this. If you want to take the chance and waste your time, by all means, go right ahead. Just because the DA wouldn’t charge doesn’t mean that the cops won’t bring you in until they find out that the DA isn’t going to charge. My time is valuable. From your responses, it’s clear that yours isn’t. Have a great day.

And the dispatcher would never say something like that. It boils down to taking someone to a location they did not agree to go to. That’s kidnapping, (yes, there’s more to it, but at the basics, that’s it). Now, in this video, the driver is telling another person to shut the door, and even says something along the lines of “If you’re staying, you’re coming home with me.” Look, you can do whatever you wanna do, but me, it’s not worth the time to deal with something that’s easily avoidable. The only problem here is that those women will probably have the last laugh here. Uber 99.9% of the time sides with the riders. Because he got belligerent with them and posted the video online, Uber will most likely fire him. In a situation like this, that sucks big time. I feel the driver was in the right here, and can’t say I’d do anything differently.

That could have constituted kidnapping though. In a situation like this, it’s best to just sit there and wait for the police to show up. And really, at that time, (3:30am), at that location, there’s always a heavy police presence. There’s a frigging lot of clubs, bars, and restaurants over there.

Funny you should mention that, because Istanbul was Constantinople. Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople. Been a long time gone, Oh Constantinople. Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night.
