It's possible to pay off the debt, it just takes a long time. You're right it is no longer a good economic choice to become a vet as the payoff isn't worth the cost. Interestingly enough males now avoid vet school and it will soon become a woman dominated career with something like 90% of vet students being female. I'm sure that will add on to the "pay gap" because mostly women are choosing to incur huge sums of debt for relatively small salaries.

Rural weddings are awesome cause its in a local field or shed, they cook up a bunch of food, and provide free beer. Ive been to 2 already this year and all I have had to spend was the gas for the 15-30 minute drive. I would never get married and poor guy getting married but weddings are fun to attend.

Oh yeah, vet schools are dominated by women these days and just as they start practicing they have kids. Also they all want to work small animal in a clinic or they find out in a couple years that their bodies can't handle the stress of practicing large animal medicine. So there is a huge demand for large animal vets. I'm a pre vet student and all of my classmates are women. There are 5 guys in my college's pre vet club out of 75+ members, and the pre vet scholarships were given out to 14 girls …
