Doesn't have the capacity to be conscious or have any type of thought, emotions or memories, same as an embryo. And besides, a tumor is technically human and alive, but has the same cognitive capacity as an early embryo. Why does the embryo have more value? Side note: An embryo becomes a fetus, you know. Your attempt to be even more pedantic is also wrong.

Either way, you shouldn't be allowed to do it. If religious freedom matters, your kid should be able to be free of their parent's religion, and if its just a matter of ethics throwing religion out the way, it's extremely painful for the child. And if people don't care about the law, society will fall apart, and maybe I will actually perform a human sacrifice to make sure the sun rises in the morning.
