That’s wonderful. His mother seems like most.. once they decide to leave, they don’t realize that they have to let a lot of control go, too. You seem like the kind of guy who can keep his cool. Stay that way. I hope it all reflects back on you in court positively and you keep your 5050 and your money!

You’re a good dad for considering these things for your son. It might be good to get him out into the world and active while he still can though. He’ll miss it later.

I’ll upvote that! More love and light to you, friend. You don’t know the last thing about who I am and what my life experiences have brought me. I’ll tell you what though.. it hasn’t made me a hateful, spiteful, judgmental person that believes mistakes define a person for life. You meet a hell of a lot more interesting people and learn a lot more when you understand how humanity works. Come back when you have some useful questions.

Haha I take responsibility for my shit, my friend. Owned, learned, and let go, but thank you. I’m sure your worst mistakes make up the entirety of who you are too.

Uhhhh that’s the most responsibility deflecting statement of the century. That’s like saying you weren’t TRYING to pour milk all over the counter, but you’re pouring it with your eyes closed. Well, you’re not trying NOT to either. Take responsibility for yourself without being defensive. It’ll help you be the best man you can be.

Uhhh…. Vow renewal means staying together as if you’re getting married all over again. Save your money and file if you want out that badly.

Oh I’m sorry. I said that as a generalization and not to you specifically. When I speak and type, I feel like I’m talking to an imaginary full classroom. I’m weird, I’m sorry. Did those feelings come up for you? You seem to speak from experience. If so, what was your upbringing like? How did you deal with it?

There are men out there who’d give an arm and a leg to a bitter woman because no one else would accept them. Lol it’s like a reverse Disney Princess movie!! Find the wicked witch her true love!

But don’t invalidate that he really didn’t know who he was and clung to his wife (and she clung to him too) to likely escape the poverty of their parents. You have no idea who you are when you’re 20, and marrying that young WILL most certainly and with validity, make you feel like you haven’t lived. He HAS lived. He lived the opposite as his parents did, but growing up with harsh challenges makes life extremely dull and frustrating when there’s not a big enough challenge or crisis to face. He mi…

Interesting. Thank you for the insight. I think a midlife crisis is pretty normal, considering we aren’t being chased by saber tooth tigers anymore, we live a long time, and men don’t have the same kind of challenges that they used to. I think you’re right about his wife needing help during that. How would you say she could ride it out without pushing him away? More adventures? Sit quietly and let it happen (which might lead him to feeling like she doesn’t care)? Swinging (halfway joking)? To be…

You might need to read this… https://www.oprah.com/inspiration/glennon-doyle-melton-parenting-children-of-divorce You’re never done being a father, FYI. That stays forever. Sounds like you have low level depression though. Being with someone incompatible feels like you’re dying inside after so long. Even if you go pick up a hobby, it’s like you go home and all the joy just got sucked out of you because you can’t share it with someone you love. You want companionship. It’s not going to kill your …

Hire a forensic accountant to audit her business and bring it to a judge. The judge will likely look down on her tax avoidance and reduce the amount owed accordingly to what she actually makes in her business, as well as see her as capable of running a business, so she’s capable of getting a second job or making more sales at her business.

Kids aren’t stupid, but they don’t know all the rules of manipulation yet. Some Mothers are so good at manipulation that kids don’t see it until decades later. Better to be the best parent possible and provide a healthy norm. They’ll FEEL the difference. If you don’t provide that, and don’t fight, it’s harder for them to recognize.

You get your kid into therapy and openly discuss with the therapist in between sessions wheat mom is doing. Get your kid into local sports/activities, and keep them busy. You be proactive!!! Teach responsibility, chores, and spend quality time together. The best way to fight it is to be the best dad possible and bring it to court. Don’t let her bludgeon you into submission!

This is probably one of the most well written mostly incorrect things I’ve ever read. I’m not sure if you know how a healthy relationship works. You can pick a woman who’s 21 and low in neuroticism and she’ll get older and become more neurotic as time passes. Just throw out the whole woman at a certain age? What? Lmao Honestly, yes, there are more neurotic women than not, but they’re out there…. They’re just not the party girls turned white picket fence chasers. Women pick shitty virile guys at …

Awwww I’m so sorry you didn’t hear that!!! The current state of the world is teaching people that most men are worthless, stupid, and to be taken for granted. Jesus Christ. Funny story…. I was fair with my ex and he drives a brand new 2021 Chevy truck and helps me out when I need it. So weird how being amicable, working hard, and learning that you’re not always right can make people get along and coparent nicely.

Things that piss me off about women in divorce is the unsightly amount of money they just shred that could be going into their kids investment portfolio. The idea they have that the man deserves to be destitute is somehow helping kids… how? Kids need 2 stable households after a divorce. Women who want to take ‘em for all they’ve got are just as bad as dead beat dads that don’t help at all. I can understand the need for more help when there’s children under the age of 10, and sharing sports/activ…

I disagree with that last part. I feel like those who go into marriage all starry eyed like love is all that matters end up hitting massive road blocks that are involved in the prenup. I feel like it’s a good guideline to work from and discuss as time passes. Even if it’s not a legal document… any kind of premarital discussion of all aspects of marriage is a great idea and doesn’t mean you’re not fit to marry each other. It should help people understand whether or not they can hack it together, …

Sounds like you just learned that you want a business partner a’la Tony and Sage Robbins, Grant and Elena Cardone, and the former Gates’ couple. You don’t want a sugar baby or just a helper. You want someone to grow a corporation with. Issues you’d have to face with that is competition of you don’t find a woman who’s got high emotional intelligence (same for you). If you stay, I can honestly see you having an affair with a hard working “type A” go getter woman. I’ve seen it 100 times.

I’m a woman and I feel like every couple trying to get married should have a prenup in place so they truly understand their partner and figure out if it’s even a compatible partnership long term, all while avoiding getting gang raped at the courthouse if you split. That’s just me though.

So I’m going to focus on one thing that you said- women are higher in neuroticism than men in general. TRUE. Waaaaay back in the early days, I’m pretty sure women developed that in order to sense illness, injury, and upset in order to be more willing to nurture others, including offspring. While you find many things about women inherently bad, you can take an additional step back into objectivity and see that there’s a reason for it. If men were more neurotic, how would you fare in the battlefie…

Real feminism respects women in their nature and respects that men are needed by their own nature- that men and women need each other’s strengths. Feminazism is a misandrist cult for female incels with entitlement issues.

Gross. Sugar babies are the most vapid creatures of the female species. Sorry, I say this because I’m rational and understand men. Most women are so self absorbed that they can’t see beyond their own needs.

Incorrect interpretation here. The ONE experience I had in that life (which I ended and am untangling effectively) doesn’t bear weight on what I’ve seen in my lifetime being around good men who’ve been screwed over. Men DO love differently than women. You communicate differently, express love in opposite ways as women in some aspects, and get treated badly because you don’t express yourself the way a woman does. I have several friends and family members experiencing it now, and they’re navigatin…

I wholeheartedly agree! However, if more women saw men for the valuable human beings that they are, there wouldn’t be that problem. There wouldn’t be this super hardcore anti male “patriarchy” story happening now. It starts with gratitude, which breeds respect. When you respect someone, you value their existence and needs, whether or not you’ve gotten what you wanted from the relationship.

Tooooo bad for her!!!! You need to communicate via text and pull these things out of her so you have proof of alienation. Text her something like, “I know we’ve been discussing divorce, but I’m curious, if I met a very nice responsible woman in time, what timeline would you be okay with me introducing her to the kids?” That’ll force her to go off the rails and you’ll have proof of her threatening to keep them from you. Keep record of it, email screenshots to yourself, print them out and leave th…

Okay big deal here- maybe don’t ever drop your kids off with her and call yourself a babysitter again (because it’ll hurt your kids), and if someone else ever abuses you, you call the cops right away because it’s legally considered child endangerment if you don’t. Men don’t get enough help from the system and women like that get to roam free. I’m happy for you and you’re a bad ass for making it out. Get some therapy for PTSD for you and your kids. You’re FREE. Make sure the shit she did to you a…

Nooooope. Anyone willing to fall for her bullshit will likely see you as a “bully” and she’ll make up some deeper victim story about what a good liar YOU are. Over time, people’s patterns emerge within all their circles. It takes time, but the people who know you will see the truth eventually. If they don’t, they’re not worth the effort of defending yourself to.
