This is me. I'm not into high expense, but high effort and high creativity- which is a lot harder than throwing money at something for men apparently.

My husband and young son make the beds - perfect military style in under 2 minutes, sometimes with me still in it lol everyday. My son loves racing his dad, and prides himself on perfect folds and lines. If my 6 year old can make a perfect bed, there is no excuse for this.

I was on a date once that I thought was going pretty well. After dinner we stepped into an antique shop next to the restaurant. I reached up to pick up something on a top shelf and my shirt rose up exposing my mid drift. My date looked at me disgustedly and said "You have a big belly button." Then went back to the original topic of the conversation. I cut the date short and never spoke to him again. He texted me nonstop (though I didn't reply) for a week asking what he did wrong and then eventua…

I downvoted you and I will explain why. You come off as condescending, jealous and nitpicking. Everything she described of a 12 year marriage is above FDS guidelines. You also make an assumption she is compromising normal standards. "I wouldn’t consider these characteristics above my standards of bare minimum." Why even say that to her lol? Can we stop shitting on good healthy relationships in this sub

I would argue a lot of the women that claim 'high libido' don't actually have a high libido, but an addiction to male validation.

It depends on what he did. If he cheated or something like that (which is likely)... lvm trash- if he left a dirty glass on the kitchen counter, or got caught up at work and late for date night, ok I guess. Tho maybe a bit much for a billboard, but acceptable lol

Reddit is so bad at relationship advice, like the smallest bs its "omg dump them!" and then something majorly wrong and terrible is "omg have you talked to him."

I've read about men who won't even risk wiping or cleaning there at all because of this reason... so seems to be a trait for homophobic men.

as I mentioned above, my ex told me it was cos he was afraid his finger would poke through the paper and touch his butthole lol so the wads he used would be like half a roll thick

My ex husband was even worse than this. 1 roll per bowl movement. He destroyed our septic tank and toilet so he had to start putting the wads of tp in his own special trashcan. ...to get to the point he said he used so much tp because he was afraid of touching his own butthole, his finger might poke through the paper and it would be gay, dirty, shameful, so on. Edit: I tried baby wipes, and disposable gloves, toilet paper was cheaper in the end. lol what a circus

A good man would have had a conversation and agreed to meet if not exceed your needs. This is not the behavior of a good man, but of a child not getting his way.

"we both need to figure out what we want from a relationship?" I get it, you want to find logic where there is none. People say shit to say it sometimes. Be strong, love yourself, and focus on you. When you are ready to date again don't get so attached so quickly. You have to filter out all the bad ones without the rose colored glasses of puppy love on.

You seem to think men think like women This^ She is exactly right. Men are raised and socially conditioned far differently than a woman. HVM recognize this, work on themselves and/or go to therapy to become emotionally available and mature. If he's not dumping you, he's trying to stonewall and manipulate you into YOU begging for forgiveness and prevent you from bringing up grievances ever again. Manipulation is far worse than being ghosted. Block and delete, heal, and move on. Love yourself more…

It's hard to tell if he was stringing you alone I mean its possible, it happens all the time. Just remember one man's 'it's too much' is another man's 'is that all?' Was I too harsh? Should I reconcile with him? Just learn from it. No matter why you are being broken up with save face and your dignity. Just say 'Ok, have a good day.' Block, delete, move on. No, don't reconcile it's a waste of energy that brings no value to your life.

I think this too, that just kidding was a panic response to your lack of response. While it may be too soon for you to know if you want to marry him or not, men know within the first few months. He was trying to be sweet imo.

I feel like he should have been able to pick up on the cues by now from just being in a relationship without you having to spell it out (assuming you have been yourself and not a cool girl.) I also believe no one is perfect not even a HVM/HVW, but its how they handle constructive criticism and change/adapt accordingly. If everything else is truly GOOD here (which is never the case, but I'll play along) in the relationship and this is his only negative quality then "jUsT C0mMuNiCaTe your feelings…

Porn is a bad habit than can all too easily turn into an addiction with consequences that range from e.ds, emotional disorders, to insatiable and dangerous fetishes and expectations. Another thing that urks me, because of porn anal is normalized and considered vanilla sex now. Its so dangerous with long term lasting issues if done even remotely regularly.

"Some of the cultural differences aren’t a result of LV tendencies" I beg to differ. This is also common in the US now except when they cheat 2 years later they can throw out 'we never agreed to exclusivity!' as an excuse. Europe will catch up thanks to reddit's popularity. It's tough news for him and I'm not going to dog the guy for not being able to juggle his life in the face of tragedy. He needs to focus on his family and himself. It's hard to go backwards at this point from romantically involved to just friends. I think you should let him go and cease communication. You had to ask him instead of him volunteering to tell you about it. He's left your future purposely foggy and obscure by dodging the question. He's dropped all contact. Sounds like he wants space …

Everything you listed is pretty much the new norm here in the United States as well because LVM are the majority and they decide social standards. When a HVM is really into you- he'll want to treat you, respect you, and provide for you, no matter the country.

The only mistakes I can see is; choosing a man who could not support a family and then moving to be with him. His failure is choosing his relatives over his wife and children. If you needed extra help and support he should have provided that for you. Housekeeper, nanny, whatever when his family wouldn't step in. Is there a particular reason you assumed his family would help you? Like did he tell you this himself?

I'm the same way. As long as a potential partner is eating fairly healthy and mostly active- I've not had a body type preference, but I do have a strict lifestyle preference. My husband is the other end of the spectrum; tall and slim and also the most handsome man in the world to me even if he ended up with a dad bod. And as we first met when I was at my heaviest, I know the sentiment is mutual.

When I first heard about FDS, it was accused of being a Sugar Baby/ Golddigger sub. Now its been flipped to 'Femcel.' I think its because the average reddit user is a broke zoomer or millennial male. A HVM suffering with depression seeks medical attention and therapy from a professional at the first sign of symptoms and maintains his mental health before he even starts dating. You did the right thing by letting him go. Open arms or not, he has to take control of his issues, that's not your job.

This is the best answer and couldn't have said it better. A lot of women will be put off by his living situation, and rightfully so. As long as he is independent, takes care of himself, and isn't a 'momma's boy' and has clear boundaries with his mother- being upfront and honest early on is best practice and someone is likely to not only understand, but see it as a positive trait. Also lets not generalize ethnicities or people of certain income levels as being more or less family oriented.

The myth that men are more visual has been debunked by several scientific studies. Men and women are equally visually stimulated, its just men have been nurtured in such a way that they refuse to control their thoughts and responses. I think the issue lies in empathy and self control, most of which is nurture and not nature. If all the men in his early life behaved and thought this way and continue to place the blame for man's lack of control on women or false biology that's how he will be. Women are taught self control, modesty, and empathy, from an early age.

I don't agree with this. Venting does not = asking for advice and nothing is more annoying than unsolicited advice. Doesn't mean you exhaust your friends by venting constantly either. This is something men are notorious for. You want to vent then they 'tell you how to fix your problems' instead of just listening and being there for you or being a shoulder to cry on.

sexual compatibility? Is that what you are asking? I don't believe in that crap. There are people bad at sex and people good at sex. Men who are good at sex tend to be attentive, generous, patient, and understand body language and other non -direct cues from their partner. You don't need to have sex to see those traits in a person.

My ex husband's parents bought us a cute little fixer upper cottage. For five years I begged and pleaded for him to start renovations.
