Am I the only one that is being reminded of pubescent boys by this? They form one big group and bully one person by constantly making really bad jokes about them. The boys in the group laugh about these jokes. If you're the one being bullied, you're told that that's just what pubescent boys do to boost their egos and that they will stop this behavior when they grow up. Truth is, they maybe stop bullying classmates, but... Do they really change much?

I think it's a lot about appearance. Not exclusively, but I think it is a large part of it.

Oh I'm sorry, I should have mentioned the age in my comment. If I was all about 25 year olds, then I would have immediately thought it was societal grooming and probably not trauma, the problem is just that the age goes more towards like 45 to 60 year olds, one guy I have liked was about 78. (Please don't ridicule me for this, I have absolutely no clue what's wrong with me. Like I said, I'm trying to change this). I would more likely suggest trauma, but I don't know what could have caused this t…

I hate the topic of age differences so much. I am currently 16 years old and I always find myself crushing on men who are way too old for me, let it be celebrities or men I actually know. FDS has motivated me to try to fight it, but this was kind of everything I did when my puberty started, so it is rather hard for me to put an end to this. Still, I am very much working on this. Thankfully, I have never been stupid enough to to try to find an older man who would be interested in me because I alw…

Basically: Objectifying women is a bonding experience for son and father. There are no other ways for him to bond with his son, because his monkey brain cannot comprehend anything but tits.

I feel for this woman. Men like that feel so entitled to women working their asses off for them.

It's just too funny to me that men will spread lies like "Dick size doesn't matter", so the poor, poor men feel better about themselves and yet make women insecure about every part of their bodies.

I think I need to clear something up (or I am misinterpreting my own life), but I don't think he's exactly abusive. He's mostly a shit husband and gets angry pretty fast, but most of the time, I would describe his way of anger as a passive aggression mixed with the ignoring of the person who upset him, that usually does nothing more than piss everyone off. The last time he raised his voice at me was when I told him not to scream just because he dropped a spoon (he gets very loud because of the s…

Thank you for this comment! I really do need some encouragement to fulfill my own dreams instead of doing what I think I'm supposed to do. I would say I am currently recovering from a misogynistic mindset I had about what I "need" to do in my future. I also have a rather weird history of crushing on male celebrities, obsessibg over them and trying to like what they like instead of finding out what I like. Then, I discovered this subreddit and found the quote by Margaret Atwood about a woman bein…
