Oh, I'm sorry, you asked him to repost it. And when he said he didn't want to, you took it upon yourself to do it for him, despite him telling you he didn't want it here. Then you posted it like it was your own story. Like a douche. You deleted it after people called you out for it for being a douche. You then post it again despite the creator, again, repeatedly, telling you he did not want his story posted here. And you post it anyway. Like a douche.

It actually would've been one thing if it had just been linked or reposted with no contact. The fact he asked, was told no, and then goes and does it anyway is what makes it a bit of a shitty thing to do. Sure, fair use and all that, its not illegal in the slightest, but...it's just not a very nice thing to do.

I don't know why neither of you can seem to understand the concept of not doing something someone asks you not to do. He asked, directly, could he post this here. He was told no. The douche then goes and does it anyway. How is this still going over your heads?

I mean, you can keep saying that, but it doesn't mean you're right. If, for instance, you ask 'Can I sit here?' on a bus when there are five other seats around us all usable, and I say 'No, sorry', and then you choose to sit in that spot anyway, it makes you an asshole. No, in neither case, there are no rules stating you CANNOT do that. But when asked not to, and you do it anyway, you're a dick.

The issue lies in the originating author asked him NOT to repost and he did so anyway - regardless of him being able to control what happens to it on the internet, it's still a massively dick move to take something and then post it despite the originator asking you not to. It's not so much rules, I suppose, as just common decency and respect.

This isn't a war like you're making it sound like. There's no 'ground' to win or lose, just social issues that need to be addressed.
