I thought the same until I started being abused. When I sought help, the court said they couldn’t take their normal process and made me fill out a criminal warrant request, rather than talking to me. That was her son-my step son. I sent a bunch of paperwork to his father and let him know what was going on. I don’t think anything ever came from it though. My son is good and well though. The divorce was centered around me realising that I was avoiding seeing him when the ex-wife was around.

This is true. I was arrested in February for bogus charges, and was wearing a pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt at the time. When I was put in cuffs, I was patted down and told "I know you vets like to carry big knives and guns." I haven't so much as yelled in anger since I got out in 2011, and the only knives I own are in the kitchen.

Artistic analysis? To make it an anyman, to which one could project a previous assailant or potential assailant. It could also symbolize the face of her alleged rapist for someone if they believed her story. It also makes her not responsible if he were to see it and try to file suit against her for defamation. I'm fairly certain (the paragraphs mentioned it being a consensual taping/acts) that he knew it was being filmed.

It's amazing. I've been pointing out the Simpson's Paradox in wage gap for almost three years now. The "correcting for" is misleading, because it is correcting, but correcting back to the original data. The wage gap came about when the statistics that were variable controlled were squished together with no regards to weighting of occupation, personal life, level of position, etc. It won't ever close because some people won't look at fact and say "oh, that makes sense because it's true."

"But facts, logic and truth mean nothing to people who think like that." This saddens me more than anything else, honestly. I feel like I value verifiable fact over most everything else and when people reject logic and evidence, it feels like we're reverting to the dark ages again.

Thank you; I did debate for almost a decade. Most of that sticks around. I assume there is sort of an audience there, although it's mostly her family, so I guess it would have gone circlejerk pretty quickly. It's amazing how clearly facts can be presented and still rejected when they don't meet someone's world views. I feel like I was in opening comments before she shut it all down. One day I hope logic and reasonable discussion return to people.
