You're right, "Just be confident" doesn't really mean anything because, what it means totally depends on the context In my experience, what women mean by it while dating is to allow her to be herself and not question what she does. Suggesting average women date in their league or slightly above is not the same as telling them to fuck fat guys. About 1 in 3 men are obese and 1 in 4 women are obese.
