That’s mostly a defence mechanism so you don’t attack them “to their face”. Then they can go back to living in peace once they are on their own.

The edit made me think of this Crazy Ex GF song: https://youtu.be/ZlHf1Fc0OSg. Gold!

This is such an insightful way to frame it. You’re completely right. Woman aren’t allowed to show certain emotions like anger and yet that’s rarely discussed.

Exactly!! I’m so enraged that the only healthy way for it to come out is tears! Be grateful if you made me mad that it’s the Worst I’ll do 🤣

My dad has been correctly using the term scrote around me since I was young. 😂 If this guy in the OP was a good father, he would make his daughter aware of them and raise his son not to be one.

That’s the one that disgusted me the most! What if the woman and man want it to be positive? It’s just horrifying to see their blatant belief that if a woman has sex she deserves to get pregnant as a punishment. Vile!

Omg that first one made me so excited for her! That’s absolutely lovely. Grand definitely doesnt need to mean over the top - but it should be special for the couple. That original thread is so aggravating.

“That’s selling your camera to a stranger on Craigslist” 😂 so true!

I hadn’t heard of it before either and just googled … Damn! That’s some misogynistic nonsense right there!

Haha this resonated with me so much. My mum described me as painfully shy but she realised talking for me wasn’t going to help. I do actually understand where the date in OPs story was coming from because I hate complaining (no matter how small) at restaurants… but, if I’m anxious about bringing it up to a waiter, I wouldn’t bring it up to a date either i would probably just eat it and pretend it’s what I wanted. I wouldn’t call that mental illness though - just being awkward. It’s ok to not per…

I think that’s fair! Growing and birthing a human is one hell of a process and all sorts of bits don’t necessarily bounce back to how they were before. Like your point about teeth - when I was little and my mum told me about how the gums got ‘softer’ around the time of birth it really made me re-evaluate the whole thing. 😆

Gave me shudders cos when I was around that exact age too there was a boy who bullied me constantly. He used to hit me and shout at me and once chased me and poked me in the eye with a stick (kids man!) … one time he hit me in the school assembly and I actually got the guts to hit him back and then surprise surprise.. who got told off? Me! And only me! He never once had to say sorry for anything. My parents gave up trying to reason with the teacher and sent me to another school.

I hate Jordan Peterson with everything inside me. How that man has got away with writing and saying the things he has and people are lapping it up as “science” is disgusting.

I was super confused about why the young ones were made to do those kicks but then I saw something about if the others guys questioned it, is counts as arguing with the manager or something? I’m not very interested in football so I don’t understand really…but that is the only reason I can think of as to why none of the older guys where doing the last kicks. Cos surely they would want that opportunity? Baffles me why the manager made that decision though.

I agree with this but it made me laugh because my bed frame broke a couple of days ago and I’ve had my mattress on the floor whilst I fix it and I was shocked at how much comfier it is on the floor (this bed frame is clearly a problem!) But your comment has reminded me - don’t get attached to the floor mattress! 😂

I can’t even comprehend only spending someone else’s money. I like being able to buy whatever I want whenever I want. Don’t want to have to justify my stupid spontaneous purchases to anyone in life 😂

My stupid brain was thinking “what’s this new thing I haven’t heard of… Lead therapy? What do I do with the lead?” L.e.d… yep! Think I need a few more wrinkles in the brain today! 😂

This absolutely sums it up. It seems it’s become really outlandish to have boundaries.

Got into a debate with a guy on Reddit about this recently. He did admittedly say that no one should be manipulated into not wearing protection with a sexual partner so his head was mostly in the right place, but he was saying that because women don’t have a penis we don’t get a say on what feels good (aka wearing a condom). And then compared it to how women say men don’t get a say about about periods.🙄 Cos of course a mans choice to have 5 seconds of pleasure is comparable to women having to pu…

Urgh- and does that mean that rapist would take over care and responsibility for that child once it’s born? Or are they expecting the woman to keep caring for it? The audacity!

Although the VICE article is ignorant, ill-researched and abhorrent. Seeing how threatening they find FDS makes me feel so proud to have landed here and be a regular lurker of this sub. I feel so relieved to know how false this article is. It’s just sad for other women who could be benefitting from this advice and now may never turn to it because they’ve been scared off.

Yes! My grandparents used to have a shop next to an old fashioned arcade so I spent my childhood playing in there and I’m now wondering why I’ve never thought to look this up! What a great idea to get one for the house!

This is completely true! I find it quite strange how everyone always talks about the negatives of lockdown (unless you have lost your job and are struggling, then it’s understandable). But the peace that came with lockdown, the extra time not spent commuting and having inane small talk. I now talk to and virtual call the people I like and love so much, plus I have so much more time to myself. The day lockdown happened, I’ve never felt so zen in my life (also landed my perfect job that day so I a…

This!!! You can hear it in their tone. I find this stereotype angers me more than any other. The men who assume all women aren’t funny are the ones who just can’t comprehend another humans point of view and they don’t understand maybe something they don’t experience is actually amusing to people who aren’t them.
