Maybe at the gym you are at, but the gyms I've been at the women are there to exercise. Sure, they may appear attractive because workout clothes are generally flattering, and they are raising their body temperatures a lot so they aren't going to be covering up head to toe. Yeah, consent can be withdrawn ex-post these days, so until the statute of limitations for sexual assault and rape expire in your state/country, you never really are in the clear these days. At least in theory. But the legal definitions of rape might make it so the ex-post taking back of consent still doesn't count as a legal rape.

Wonder if OP even read the article. At least the story the daughter is going with is that her mother coerced her at age 9 to lie about being molested/raped. The police also used their tactic of being able to lie to you just to see where you go with the questioning. The whole thing is a huge tragic mess that is the result of many institutional failures. I agree, but I think you kind of missed the point I was going after. Suppose 80% of highway miles are driven by men. If 80% of highway speeding tickets go to men, that is proportionate and I wouldn't say men are more likely to speed than women are (here I am assuming the rate of getting pulled over is the same, which may not be true). So the idea shouldn't be 70% of child abusers are the mom, therefore women are terrible. It could be that women are no more likely (individually) to abuse children…

I don't know if that is a particularly insightful stat, either. It is from the perspective of women aren't necessarily angels, but I would wager women are with children at least the majority of the time a child is with a parent on their own. So 70% might just reflect presence and not necessarily some kind of predisposition to abusing.

Then the friend who started the thread to say: Hey [ceteris], please respect the fact that as a man, you get to listen to women determining what is or isn't sexism. I agree, the statement is factually correct and interesting. Having to be concerned about all different groups in society all the time can make it harder to focus on a single thing. The outrage should be if people aren't writing articles about the male suicide rate. But then again, what is stopping people from writing those articles themselves? I honestly think this is okay. Women take longer to use the restroom and our public restrooms should be designed such that women and men can expect to wait the same amount of time, always. I would even argue further that women should sue most public buildings for not accommodating them the same as males. Remember that we don't want to hate women just like we don't want feminists to hate men. Not everything that looks bad for men is necessarily unfair.

In addition to clarifying that sex without “yes” — whether or not there’s a “no” — could be assault, the bill would clarify that individuals can take back their consent at any time and that just because two people are dating doesn’t mean they want to have sex. We have statutes of limitation because waiting so long to punish someone for a crime does not benefit society, because it does not deter crime. All you need to do think that criminals discount the future more than the rest of society, so what happens to them 20 years from now doesn't make a difference for their decision to commit crime, and for there to be costs to society for brining these cases (and punishing).

95% does not mean that on average 1 in 20 times sexual intercourse will lead to pregnancy. It means 1 in 20 couples who use this method alone can expect to get pregnant over the course of the year. The statistic is somewhat misleading. 97% of all cases are from circumcised men, but what percent of men are circumcised? I really have no clue but I I would imagine it is considerably higher than men. The 97% tells you nothing of relative risk.

After reading this and the full article, I am curious as to why this is a men's rights issue. The article doesn't use any gendered pronouns to suggest one gender is more likely to be a victim/aggressor. Instead, I see it as the school has to comply to some Title IX rule saying sexual assault cases need to be reviewed within 60 days, and under the old system, they aren't always meeting this. I think OP was the one who made this about gender, unless I am missing something. e: added link

Did she say women get 72% of the pay men get? I am pretty sure the 77¢ on the dollar study has been shown to no longer be true. While the gap may exist, it is hard to say the difference is because of gender, rather there is something else causing it.
