Women tend to act in bad faith in marriage/divorces in a way that men just don't. I say that as a woman. Women can marry guys knowing they'll divorce them later. A woman admiting she did that wouldn't be seen as some shocking confession. Yes I'm a huge advocate of giving people what they ask for. You want a divorce, you get a divorce. We don't hang out, were not "friends".I don't wish her happy birthday. She will never get another gift from me etc. Guys shouldn't be back-up plans or emotional crutches post divorce either.

99% of people initiating the divorce aren't planning on becoming celibate after. According to my MFT (a woman if that matters) "most people initiating the divorce are bored and/or wanting to have sex with other people".
