The first things that come to mind are when he: has no female friends isn't interested in media created by women isn't interested in a single thing or activity stereotypically associated with women is anti-feminist either disrespects women or puts them on a pedestal looks down on people who don't adhere to gender roles uses pick up artist strategies

Not at all! When I was younger I used to let it slide because I'm from a bad family background and thought it was normal but I eventually realized it's not and I deserve better. If my partner doesn't treat me like an equal, doesn't listen to me or acts like they don't care about me I will leave. I've cut ties with several people over this and will do it again if I need to

They're the same apart from one chromosome and the expectations society has of them. Men and women have the same needs and the same emotions but society taught us to express them in different ways, or keep them to ourselves if they're not compatible with gender roles.

Women are not a monolith, and unfortunately there are some women who would think less of you and even break up with you for expressing your emotions. There are also lots of women who would appreciate you for sharing how you feel. I personally believe it's fine for men being emotional but again, people are different. Being in touch with your emotions and accepting yourself for who you are is a good thing and a relationship with a woman who believes you should pretend to be someone you're not isn'…

Feminist here. I'm sorry you had to go through that and deal with those awful people, rape should be taken seriously no matter of gender. I hope you're in a better place now mentally

Of course they would be curious. I believe it's the parents' job to explain those words to their children in an age-appropriate way and discuss them, and teach them about consent. I also believe it's the parents' responsibility to limit their young kids' access to the Internet, e.g. by installing a browser for children. The Internet doesn't have to baby-proof itself just because some parents lack common sense

Generally speaking, women want trustworthy, reliable, confident, caring, funny, and interesting men. It's just logical. For a woman to meet you, she has to believe she can trust you not to be a date rapist or kidnapper, your encounter will be fun sexually and conversation wise, and you're a good person to be around. Adjust your pictures, bio, and messages accordingly and you're probably going to be successful. Also don't tell them you can't get laid. It kills the mood.

I believe part of the problem is the language you're using: you "want it from them"? Sex is not a transaction. It's something you do together with them. If you don't know why women would want to have sex with you, it's no wonder you can't attract them. Try to think of yourself as a movie. Your dating profile is your trailer. It should showcase your best scenes and make the viewer want to see more. How are you supposed to create a good trailer if you don't know which scenes are good? You can ask …

Sounds like you're thinking of sex in a way most women don't like. It's not supposed to be about using or being used, it should be a mutually pleasurable intimate experience between two (or more) people. That said, most women are afraid of being date raped or kidnapped so you'll want to convince them they're going to enjoy your encounter and they're safe around you. You can achieve this by focusing less on your desire for sex and more on theirs. Why would a woman want to have sex with you? If yo…

As a woman, I can confirm that everyone's ideal partner looks different, but the one thing we collectively seem to be into is effort. We are attracted to guys who go out of their way to do nice things. Like, taking the time to take several good pictures of themselves and write an interesting and funny description. It's not all about looks. A group picture or blurry selfie with a fish is nothing compared to a creative picture of a guy with nice hair and facial hair, wearing a flattering outfit in…

That's not what I was talking about, but nevertheless your reaction proves my point. You're basically saying sex is something women give to men (or men do to women) because men desire it, however you seem to be missing that women have sexual desires and fantasies as well. Sex should not be an inconvenience women go through to please someone else. It should be mutually enjoyable. I wasn't questioning that they were fulfilling their gf/wives' emotional needs and doing nice things for them. I was a…

DAE wonder why women don't want to have sex with their partners? As a woman, I know that women have a sex drive too, so what keeps them from acting on it? The first reasons to come to my mind are that they're not in the mood, or the sex is not satisfying. For women, getting in the mood and having enjoyable sex can be more difficult that it is for most men, so instead of complaining about women refusing sex, you could try to initiate a conversation about her reasons and the ways to improve the si…

Ofc it can be a hint for sexual attraction, but I'm just saying many guys really jump to conclusions too easily and ruin it for their peers. I've had several very unpleasant guys try to make me date them because I was nice to them once to a point where I had to ghost them because they refused to take no as an answer. This is why I don't compliment guys who don't know me well enough to know I'm not available. No, I am not missing the point at all

Ofc it's sad that many guys are deprived of positive attention, but am I the only one who sees an issue with the "get him interested in you" part? Many guys misinterpret simple compliments and assume there's a deeper meaning to them. Let's not jump to conclusions too quickly and take things for what they are: a casual non-sexual compliment probably doesn't mean anything

Eh, I don't think you know what radical feminism is. It's not synonymous with extreme feminism even though there are indeed some crazy ppl out there who identify as radical feminists. It's the opinion that gender is kind of a social class, so it focusses around women as a whole rather than women as individuals

Telling her she's immature like a child is kind of insulting, so what did you expect in return? "I am so sorry, thank you for making me realize that, unlike you, I am in fact immature."? I'm sorry to break the news to you, but that is not what happens in the real world. Someone on the Internet called you a sexist, so what? Everyone has been misjudged or insulted by a complete stranger before. She doesn't know you and her opinion of you doesn't affect your life in any way, so why waste your time …

People on this sub sometimes seem to forget that women don't just accuse innocent men of rape for fun. Either they're mentally ill, or they have something to gain from it. And even if they could gain something (e.g. money) from it, it takes either mental illness, or a trash personality to actually do it. I would understand this man's fear if she was a pathological liar or someone who derives joy from getting people into bad situations. Same thing if she hated him for whatever reason. But assumin…

Ehhh, if women had to pay as much as men, they wouldn't go to clubs as often. That would result in a lower women to men ratio. I mean, if that's what you want that's fine with me, but then don't complain about clubs becoming a sausage party.

Not very surprisingly, trp doesn't even see women as humans. Women are individuals capable of a wide emotional spectrum whose brains are not fundamentally different from mens'. Some women cheat, some don't. Btw, statistically men are more likely to cheat than women. If he confuses loyalty with unconditional love, he might be right. But men don't love unconditionally either. I'd like to see how much this clown would love his gf/wife if she got fat and refused to ever have sex with him again. Ever…

In her defense, womens' fear of men isn't that irrational. I mean it's not necessary bc if one in 6 women (in the US) has experienced a rape situation in their lifetime and 3 out of 10 rapists are strangers to the victim, one in 20 women gets raped by a stranger. That's a 5% chance, so women (in the US) don't need to worry that much. It's just that the fear of strange men is ingrained into our brains from a young age. Many parents teach their girls to never go outside alone after dark, not wear …

Here's a different perspective: Women are individuals with different goals and ambitions in life. Only few women are sugar babes and trophy wifes who only go after your status and money. Women are humans, just like you. Check out this study: according to it, women on average cheat less than men Romance doesn't have to be chaos and uncertainty. It's all about how you go about it and who you're with. Just get with a woman who is looking for the same things as you in a relationship and be honest wi…

Luckily I've come to that conclusion too even though it took me far too long. Sex isn't inherently painful/uncomfortable for me. It just depends on the guy...

I actually meant average porn. It's kind of obvious that there's pain in BDSM porn because it's literally the point and the people who watch it know that it's a kink and not how sex usually works. But I was referring to "normal" porn often featuring women in pain.

I'm not quite sure what to think about sex strikes. Unless the partner of the woman doing the sex strike is a legislator/politician signing the bill on abortion laws, it won't change anything. While I don't want to accuse anyone of "punishing" someone by refusing to have sex because sex is neither a human right, nor a vital need, and it's possible to live a fulfilling life without it, I see that many people don't want to be in an asexual relationship. Depending on the duration of the sex strike …

Actually most one-night hook ups cared more about my sexual pleasure than my ex boyfriends. While my ex's tried to persuade me into doing things I've repeatedly told them I didn't want to do, most of the ONS guys respected my boundaries without even so much as complaining. I should have realized how toxic they were much earlier.

While speaking up when you're not enjoying it is definitely necessary for finding ways to improve the sex, not all partners are willing to listen. I know it's just anecdotal evidence and should be taken with a small grain of salt, but most guys didn't care at all when I told them I was uncomfortable or in pain. Also lube only helps when the pain is caused by a lack of natural lubrication. It might be worth trying if you don't know what the problem is, but it doesn't help everyone.

You've made an interesting point there. The article really treats sex as something women give and men receive. Then again, sex unfortunately still works that way for many people. Just think of the guys who want to date/marry a virgin because they want to take her virginity. Maybe better sex education could change that and encourage people to speak up when they're not enjoying it and actually listening when being told that by their partner. Also what do you think about female pain in porn? Does i…

Speaking from my own experience, pain can absolutely ruin the sex. Penetrative sex can feel like a thousand burning needles stabbing my vagina if the guy ignores everything I tell him and puts his d in too quickly. It doesn't hurt at all when he listens to what I have to say, but many guys just didn't care at all when I told them I was uncomfortable and weren't willing to try anything I had suggested to make sex more pleasant for me

Sure, some of the things she has said on twitter are disrespectful against veterans, but please let's not turn this into hate against people who got PTSD due to other reasons than war. Also please don't shame people for their decision to openly talk about their mental illness. Maybe try seeing women as humans. Finding female friends or talking with the women you know (not necessarily sex, but just anything) might make you realize that men and women aren't as different as you might think. A psychologist/therapist will certainly be helpful at reaching your goal.

Did she tho? Sometimes people experience their relationship very differently. One might think everything's alright while the other one thinks it's horrible. But maybe you're right and she was lying. I just don't think it's just for my fellow redditors to judge a stranger based off a tiny bit of information given by someone who has strong feelings about them.

It's weird how everyone on this threat instantly sides with op without knowing what actually happened. "My wife's emotions were not being validated" could mean anything or nothing at all. What's the reason for the divorce? Why did she get full custody? What would be best for the kids? How big of a role did op play in parenting? Maybe we shouldn't side with anyone since we don't know much about the situation and we haven't heard her side of things.

Being bullied wasn't your fault. I mean the ppl who did that to you had a choice not to behave like that. They should have thought more about the impact of their words and actions. Maybe they did know what they were doing and they had to put you down in order to feel confident themselves. Pathetic, isn't it? They should have had more empathy. You didn't deserve to go through that. It's also not true that you don't have any value to give. While you might not have much money, you believe in love. …

Yes, we indeed love conditionally, but so do men. There are certain circumstances that would make anyone fall out of love. Those may be different for every individual, but they exist. We (=women) generally do care about close emotional relationships and wouldn't just throw them away for nothing. Also, here are some biological facts about women since you sound like you got your sex ed in Texas: - women can not produce new eggs, unlike men who produce new sperm daily - by the time we get our first…

I don't think you're wrong feeling like that at all. It's quite understandable tbh. You tried to get a gf, but you got rejected over and over again and now you're self-conscious and afraid of even more rejection, which seems to be a normal reaction on your part. Instead of not asking women out anymore, I suggest presenting yourself to women in a different way. You can emphasize the good things about yourself, such as humor, intelligence,...
