16 years for us too. I was 24 he was 40 and we met at work. He was even more youthful than me in his outlook as im an old soul and very quiet. Our workmates thought it strange at first and warned him off me, but we are still here 11 years later with three kids lol. Would I rather him be my age now? Ofc I would. What they do? I'm telling you that women usually don't go into relationships with men much older than them, that's not just them saying such and such, its them acting on it. And I notice large age gaps because they're very unusual, atleast where I'm from. Maybe you live in a different part of the world. And me and my husband weren't competition for anyone. Another interesting thing was that it was also men who often commented on our age gap negatively, not just women.

I'm in an age gap marriage and find that's not true at all. The majority of women, especially young women, prefer partners their own age. Many of my twenty something friends were shocked at my 40 something partner.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
