I doubt the completeness of his story. I have a some knowledge of legal procedure, as well as family law. One of his complaints, for example, was that the judge refused to hear his evidence. I like the term, if it isn't redundant. It lets us know a lot more with just one word, that it was a case of discrimination against someone with the majority status by someone with the minority status. In the case of the story, it was used redundantly, however, since the story gave that detail elsewhere.

I think it is extremely rare that anyone tells a rape victim, to her face, that it was her fault, by doing something stupid, that she was raped. Feminist are offended because they think that you do it because you assume they are weak. Men actually do it because they think that by showing, in this small way, that they care for her, it will cause the woman to care for them too. You don't need to be insulting. Men, as a class, have problems that women do not have. I would not say that men are generally "oppressed", but there are definitely some areas where things could be better. I also don't think women are not as oppressed as some of them think they are.

I have seen dozens of videos of police brutality in which some cop or pair of cops beats the hell out of a suspect for no apparent reason while sometimes many other cops stand around. I have no confidence in group behavior.

Also, the Duke kids never 'fessed up to it. Although I doubt they were coerced as much. Edit: I might add as well that in the Duke case, no rape actually occurred, while in the Central Park case, the jogger was definitely, indisputably nearly beaten to death- but by someone else.

I am sorry, I thought you were talking about the same crime. If a man is accused of rape at any age, with the sketchy evidence that was seen here, he should get leniency. Not because of his age, but because of the lack of evidence. If he commits a rape at a young age, and there is good evidence of it, he should get some leniency, based on his age. 17 should get some leniency. Not a lot, but some.
