In my view, you have to let go and accept the fact you're going to get hurt. It's all about killing your dependency on the opinions of other people. Soon you realise getting hurt ain't so bad, then you strive to put yourself out there and actually want to get hurt.

You need to assess what type of person she is first, before opening up to anyone. I'm going to approach this at a different angle. Shouldn't the goal be to be able to open up to anyone at will? Regardless of who they are or where you stand with them? To me, I'd much rather be completely honest and deep with everyone. I want to do this because then I'll be able to tell who reciprocates, and who doesn't. I feel that shows a lot of strength to be able to do that.

I reckon women who had a rough childhood and/or low self esteem and/or little experience with men fall for 'bad boys' because they actually don't know what a confident, healthy man is like, so they fall for the manipulation techniques of a 'bad boy'.
