If it gets to court the judge may see through it. If you are negotiating or in mediation the financial affidavit papers are what matter and those will show lower ability to pay with your lower income.

Is this alimony calculator worth anything? If her Financial Affidavit shows her need is $2,400, would a judge give her more than that?

I have been considering filing a lawsuit for 50% of her inheritance. Not sure how strong my claim would be yet, but it will put her in the same position as me. Either settle with some form of payment to me or go to court. I think 200K in alimony (me paying the taxes on top of that) and years of paying her is worth fighting it out especially when she's so well off.

Good memory :) Yes she used to work at a casino as a blackjack dealer. All our friends that remained working there make around $100K at the moment. Thank you for the input! Bad faith sounds like an extremely worthy thing to argue keeping imputed income as a backup in case.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
