Fuck no it's not. Because they refuse to play their part. It would be a flex if they still wanted to cook, clean, and in general take care of us but they don't. What they want is for us to go out and bust our asses for 60 hours a week and then come home and clean and take care of household responsibilities on top of not expecting to have sex. Oh, and be happy about it because if you get mad you're not being the stable easy going husband that you're expected to be.

Social media and shitty friends is huge. Constantly comparing the life you have together to someone unmarried or someone divorced and remarried who now has a better house, better job, better relationship with their spouse and it's all just external pressures saying "what I have isn't good enough anymore."

This is basically what scares me out of going to therapy. I've been dealing with my own shit for so long, and I've self-taught myself a good bit of healthy coping mechanisms. I'm not interested in throwing away several hundred dollars to be spoon-fed what I already know.

Believe me the general intimacy is a big thing for alot of us as men too. I can only speak for myself but the hugs, the cuddles, the kisses, it's all part of the connection that keeps me happy. Sex is a portion but when everything is missing, it hurts even more.

The dead bedroom part is a big thing to me because they just expect we should live forever without it because they don't want to do it. It's a pretty heavy cloud hanging over our heads everyday. FYI I'm not divorced...yet, but having similar feelings. Cheers brother.

I won't blame or endorse a decision either way because there's too much left unsaid here. The only thing I will say as an alcoholic is that you can't blame that trait in yourself on anyone else. Especially if you're being honest in saying that something about your life that is changeable so to speak is the source. She did not make you an alcoholic, you've put yourself in a situation that caused you to drink.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
