Absolutely true. however, it would be blantantly false to suggest that on average kids with 1 or no parents are better off than kids with 2 parents.

its got nothing to do with the mothers competency, it has everything to do with 2 parent households being vitally important to the development of children. education, financial security AND single motherhood are all equally important imo.
