She's 33 and is a grandmother what the fuck. So both she and her daughter had a kid at 16 on average. Sounds like a a perfectly normal family, I'm sure that grandkid will grow up to be well adjusted

You're being misled in the exact way the article is trying to. It is correct that the rate at which redundancies has increased compared to the financial crisis for women is higher than it is for men. However the reason for this is because significantly more men were made redundant then women in during the financial crisis, whereas the pandemic as affected men and women closer to equally (note that rate of redundancy is still higher for men, 217,000 for men vs 178,000 for women). So the only conc…

Yep, nothing they say is actually false but they've done everything they can to bring people to a point where they will make a small leap and assume they are saying it affects women more than men. I know I did before reading the article.

It's a shame since some of their work is very high quality, but they also publish so much stuff like this. Do you have a better recommendation for more neutral English language news? (preferably one that is UK focused too)

The article is written in a way to lead you into believing that women are at greater risk of losing their jobs because of the pandemic, but when you read the article the way they actually back this up is that the percentage by which the number of redundancies women face now compared to the 2000 crisis has increased by a greater amount than that for men. But the number of redundancies men faced then were higher in the first place, and so now its still MEN who are facing redundancy in greater numb…

There isn't really much purpose in going to university here for an arts degree outside of doing it for the experience itself. If you do choose to go you'll have to learn to hold your tongue, there's a disproportionate amount of kill all men types in the arts.

It's pretty insidious if you ask me, doing this begins to trivialise the experience of people who have actually been raped

I really can't wrap my head around this one. If you don't want to have sex in exchange for money, don't become a prostitute?

It's so extremely sexist on that sub. No matter how terrible someone is they always decide NTA when it's a woman writing. Or if there's a woman involved in the story the man is always the arsehole.

It's amusing how much of a pawn she is for an artless film created by a studio of white male execs for consumption by white makes. I can't get my head around why she believes this is some great feminist artwork.

/r/MensRights23/02/19 01:04 PM

And this is what has happened. Crime has soared in the UK partly due to how ineffective the police has become lately. In my area everyone knows someone who has been burgled or robbed and the police have done nothing.

Well it's true they shpuld start making more opportunities to black people but you can't do that in a, discriminatory way. It's about making the service more appealing to them and encouraging them to apply rather, than making 'diversity hires' regardless of quality.

Jesus Christ, don't call someone a soyboy on this subreddit, it makes you look like a moron. This kind of macho bullshit is part of the reason so many men are killing themselves in the first place.

The rhetoric is that it's unmanly because it increases your estrogen levels or something (there's no scientific evidence for this, of course, its just pseudo macho bs)

I agree. Its very easy when you see the amount of attention the whole agenda gets in the media that these radical ideas are commonplace amongst women, and it's very easy to buy into that narrative (which of course is exactly what they want). Thankfully, in reality the vast majority of people I've spoken to about these issues have sensible, normal viewpoints on the topic.

I think OKcupid did a study which showed that the mean value women rate a man's attractiveness is much less than what you would expect (5/10) whereas men rate women in a way so that the mean falls where you would expect it. It is a very natural thing for the female of a species to be picky, as they are looking for the best genes (whether they know it or not) to pass on to give her offspring the best chance of survival. Whereas the male often is just looking to try and get their genes passed on. …

It has to be mentioned that May wasn't voted into her position in the way an American president would be, she was picked out by the tory party. Also in the UK prime ministers don't run for office in the way a president would (although they like tmhe pretend that it is the presidental system these days)
