Your biggest issue, based on your OYS was: Right now I'm concerned with holding frame and passing shit tests. I think you wrote an 'MRP approved' list without really thinking about your present issue. How does your list help with that issue? Is there anything you can add? Can be rhetorical or write your own notes.

I want to be whole Not specific. and to love myself. Love what about yourself? Not specific I want to not give a fuck what other people think, ...think about what? Not specific. and live life on my terms. ...what terms? Not specific. I want to be free. ...from what? Not specific. All your replies are platitudinal milquetoast. This is one reason you've made little to no progress. At first I didn't like Horns response but maybe he's right...

Today I want to try to actually just own my shit and get better. Get better at what - specifically? Can you answer that? Lately I'm starting to get shit tests not only from my wife, but also my teenage daughter. Unfortunately I'm not good at responding, I feel like I'm a slow thinker. Hell, the other day my daughter tossed one at me and I just sat there for a few seconds, then finally mumbled something lame. My wife laughed at me saying it was hilarious watching me stare blankly trying to come u…

Happy, that's another story. But then that isn't the goal for everyone. That is a very interesting comment...

I'm just more of the ilk of least letting the anger phase subside before thinking you know what you want. Emotions running high and all that. But hey, he'll figure it out. If he raises his value and figures out what he wants, he'll be fine.

A shame in some fashion as there was value in the comments. Also, value in seeing what it looks like to go Rambo haphazardly without the basics...

It seems like most people think I am just here for validation ...or attention. Or validation through attention. Either way, I've not seen anyone come through here craving attention like you. I'm out. We'll see. In your short time, I think you made my all-time MRP entertainment list... Daddy TC, Oopi, Alex J. Anderson, Vitrael2.

Verbal: Praising the things I find valuable/appreciate. "Dinner was amazing, tonight." "I appreciate how you handled the issue with the school." "The house looks great, I like coming come to this." Non verbal: Giving her a deep look of approval, with a wry smile then a deep kiss. Bringing drinks out on the back porch, affirming the positive with time and attention. There are several creative ways that sex is a communication of value. You'll have to figure that out. Mixing words and action is pow…

Didn't see that part. I'm not blowing smoke or making things up. No. I do not get bitchy behavior at all. Comfort tests, emotions, tears, tired.. sure. Bitchy? 100% no. She will apologize at times if she feels she was disrespectful in input she offered. My favorite is when she says something along thr lines of "May I respectfully submit my input?" In fairness, she was rarely 'bitcy' in my beta days, she was just get detached and sad. She used to fly off the handle over sex, but as I stated above…

Value? Yes. Life is never perfect, it's pretty awesome on all fronts right now. It's hard to believe how it is now, compared to how it was prior to TRM/Dalrock/MRP.

Is sex consistently available Yes. 100%. and enthusiastic? 90% yes. The late night, tired at a days end sometimes wanes, but other than that, yes. Have you fulfilled every sexual fantasy you had? No. Not yet. But I am in no big rush to fulfill every fantasy right now. Sex doesn't hold the urgent place in my life that it did in my beta days. So I am enjoying the progression at my pace.

Because I still believe, I don't have the freedom to nuke the family, and that's not what I want anyway, Man. I pushed through that. We can differ, but that mindset 'to be willing' was powerful. It didn't make me an uncaring, narcissistic asshole, just mentally strong and free from fear and free to give without expectation. You mentioned Blarg in the past tense... Noticed my saved posts of his are still there, but the account is gone. Did he leave a farewell post or anything? I owe him a lot for…

It is explained what I was experiencing. Why conversations went nowhere. Why 'date nights' went nowhere. Why it wasn't possible to tell her what I want/like and watch it happen. Why I could do so much for her and not see an expression of... anything. I was mad and didn't want to believe that love was so conditional. u/redwall92 is right. The absolute opposite of this is taught in the church. "Love your wife like Christ loves the church and gave Himself up for her." A scriptural recipe for a blue…

I rediscovered MRP, Rational Male, etc and I've attempted to take charge but was met with tough resistance and still called out for any and all leadership mistakes trying to establish a frame that I cannot lead. In other words, you were shit tested for trying to take charge without frame or substance. Weak men can't take charge. After all this effort to lose weight, dress better, set boundaries, take ownership, be more alpha etc and it's still not working after 1 year. Nice covert contract. This…

I did not do the exercises, I read the book about a year ago. I will read it again. I knew you didn't do the exercises. This is your journal so if you're going to take the time, at least be honest with yourself that you read it a year ago. I will There it is again. Maybe leave the house a couple hours a day this week to read and journal. Don't tell her what you're doing either. Just go.

You only need to list two goals. Get out of the house. Now. A lot. Lose fat and lift. ...and as always the trusty old STFU. Did you read NMMG slowly and do the exercises? Go back if you didn't. I don't think you did. This is a place of I did, not I will. I will is short term motivation dreaming. I did is action. Look at this ... I need to I'm ready to I will join a gym, a golf league, and start bowling again this year. I will start I'm also going to I need to I need to My diet will be I'm going …

I get the good sex and then fall back into old ways. This mental model is why you fall back into old ways. Good sex is not something you get, it's something you give. This is likely dancing monkey syndrome But if you are here, which you are, you are not the man to give it. Become that man. Here's how I know you're not...your words... I have also let her complaints and rejection affect me. I realize I have been letting fear run me recently. It has led to weak initiations. I have been struggling w…

Although getting more and better sex is definitely a goal I have Try again. I think that once her body biologically wants me badly enough, it will happen. I am going to improve this week at some of the romance gestures: Better I love yous, better planned dates, flowers, etc. End covert contracts and negotiated desire. There, I pointed two in your post to help you end them.

Mental model. I don't 'get sex' or 'get laid.' Become a man who fucks.

But I'm very open to hearing that "life in the spirit" means something different than what I've been led to believe so far. That's a good way to look at it and what I have found. Ironically, we seem to be getting it wrong in almost the same way as the secular culture around us. This is my first hint that something is really wrong. Ha. You know what gave this place credence and that we (most Christian men) had it wrong? Many of the 'vets' here laughed at pornography. Well, that and they (we) lay …

On this book I am working through the tension between RP attitudes on sex vs. the mainstream evangelical Christian perspective, the latter being the culture I am immersed in. That is the same culture I was immersed in as well. I think Dalrock's work over the years was pretty close in that the church bought into chivalry long ago, even though it is a parody of Christianity. Chivalry enabled feminism. It all 'seems' so right, but doesn't work. Have you found that blog? Once I read, understand and …

Married Sex - A Christian Couple's Guide to Reimagining Your Love Life" by Gary Thomas & Debra Fileta. Mining this book for theology of married sex. "Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love" by John Gottman et al. My therapist recommended I read this book with my wife. More RP recommended reading on deck when I finish this stuff. These books are not RP recommended stuff. These books always miss the importance of building the man before anything else. I've yet to come across a…

I have loose skin which significantly compromises my ability to look good naked. It is what it is, it's my fault, I can't afford to get it taken care of, Right now, ok. and even if I could, I would never spend that kind of money on something like that for myself. If you're saying what I think you are saying, nice guys think like this. Don't be afraid to invest in yourself.

You're right about that paradigm. In what way am I right? That the church is heavily embedded in The S/l paradigm or that it's flawed? There is a God and I am His servant. And I am the leader in my family. What's wrong with that? Do you think there may be a different way to go about leadership than what you have been taught?

A lot of 'she's' here. So before you're 9'd... Spiritual: Went to church 3 times this past week. This is most likely linked to these: Assume the role of a family leader, serving as a model of a strong and healthy marriage for my daughters, better enable myself to lead my family I’m greeting her warmly every morning The church is heavily embedded in The Servant Leader paradigm. Usually a relationship/attraction killer. Your whole mission is others focused through nice guy behavior. Your gonna hav…

What specific actions did you take to overcome that fear? Was it as simple as going for what you wanted, despite feeling the fear? First, there are no shortcuts... I... Lifted and surfed. Read the sidebar. OYS'd for one full year into my journey. Worked hard on me and what I wanted and became more congruent, confident - and attractive. Engaged my social life and was less available in general. Introduced more emotion in sex, and pushed boundaries when emotions were high. I definitely had no's and…

She knows very well what my needs are and either doesn't care or doesn't think there will be consequences, so why bother. Maybe. Maybe not. You're in her head. I've seen the line here, "a woman knows exactly how to please you." My experience has been nearly the exact opposite years into marriage. As in, my wife was so afraid of failure, she didn't try. I have had to seduce, initiate and create nearly the entire sexual relationship. First, I had to become attractive, then shed the fear of rejecti…

Fairly valuable notes and interesting comments/ discussions. Valuable post for intermediates because, for whatever reason, men tend to fall back on 'beta' more often than 'alpha.' I did, not so much because I was a pussy or cc's, but rather I cared. My experience (married 20+ years, no RP anything until after 20 yr. mark) has not been consistent with your theory IN TOTALITY. As I ridded the 'beta' and upped the 'alpha', no doubt the response was strong and results we are not supposed to pay atte…

OYS #15 I’m 5 months into my Red Pill journey. For someone this far in... I told her I reminded my wife I told her I wasn’t sure. I responded, “yes, and this isn’t just about that. I’m not going to just take time for myself once a year when you go away for a retreat. I sat my wife down to have a conversation you sure talk a lot. Acta Non verba. How can you do that more and talk less? The "I wasn't sure what I was doing looks weak and butthurt. "You went out, so I am too!" had been avoiding facin…
