You assumed a couple things but ok. I’m not debating anyone BTW, just sharing my opinion so I will move along when I am ready

I am strongly against it. That’s called having an opinion. Please show me where I said you have to agree with me? I’m also strongly against people assuming a whole bunch of things, after all you know what they say about “assume.”

Why do you assume it bothers me?

I read the book, dear. Again, psycho-babble. My point is, we ALL would appreciate any of these 5 things from our significant other. Unless we are saying that we’d feel “unloved” if our partner didn’t show us love in one precise way, we can’t possibly say “this is my love language and how I feel love” in the first place. It’s no different than me declaring there are 27 love languages instead.

Yes of course you would appreciate the gesture and it would probably make you feel a positive emotion. So, now you have 4 of the 5, which is essentially all of them. We all like these things to a varying degree; no one is going to feel unloved by any of these gestures so saying that “this is the only way I feel love” is BS

That’s 3 of the 5…so essentially the majority of the love languages are yours, no? We could say this about ANYONE. Let me ask a question, if you and I are friends and I get you a card and a gift for your birthday, what do you do? You already said you wouldn’t feel loved, so would you be telling me it’s unacceptable and I need to hug you instead? I feel that would be a little bit rude. My guess is you’d accept the gift and appreciate the gesture.

Did you? It is psycho-babble but you do you boo

I say that because the author has no idea what he is talking about. He’s a former pastor and radio DJ—how does that qualify him to speak on relationships?

FYI the love languages are total nonsense

This. Since when did “thank you” become not enough? I can assure you that when someone says “thank you” to me, it IS enough.

Just chiming in here: wouldn’t the “do you want to know” point be moot as you already told him? My perspective has always been different on this. Things like this are sort of in-one-ear-out-the-other for me, so 5 minutes later I’ve forgotten that the random guy in the elevator looked super happy to see me and commented on my blouse. So this would be something so inconsequential to me that it wouldn’t occur to me to bring it up in the first place

I heard somewhere that the so-called “girls-girl” are ONLY that way to women they don’t perceive as a threat. Once a woman becomes a threat, the “girls-girl” goes out the window

I feel like it’s more probable that he’s thinking “wow! That was great sex” instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

What a long-winded way of saying “I’d rather not do that…sorry”

I love this response! And I feel very accurate! I’ve always found these random hypotheticals to be silly…just silly. But with how common they are I felt like I was the one with the unpopular opinion.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
