the onlly regret I have is that I didn’t insist on getting more than half. She wanted the divorce and I made it too easy. We did a no fault and divided everything trightt down the middle. In the end, I’m set for life but now I’m just irritated

I had to get out ASAP after I told her it was over. I don’t regret it one damn bit. I look around and confirm it daily.

True but I feel there maybe another person involved just due to the wife stating she didn’t want him to be in her romantic life. So many women and men divorce for another. Sorry OP, I hope she isn’t cheating g on you, but you might to discuss this possibility with a counselor, not us yahoos on Reddit

Don’t sacrifice your life and wishes for the kids. It’ll only make you resentful.

I was in that boat. When she gave me the BS line “I don’t feel emotionally connected to you anymore,”. I was like “Well shit, do I play around? Do I smack you around? Do I drink too much?” No no and no. Some people are just shit heels. Hopefully they won’t ever make anybody else miserable. Semper Fi OP.

Your post cheers me up in a huge way. I think I have a similar thing going with a girl I last dated in 1984. She has sent me periodic things in Facebook and if I’m reading the room correctly she and I. Have some spark.

Probably the most logical response. It sounds cold, but I’m ok with that.

I helped my wife move to her newly purchased condo yesterday. I agreed to be there by 4:30pm. Sometime around noon my son decided to go ahead and mow the yard, which is no big deal. However, at 3:35 my STBXW. let me a message about grabbing two or three specific items out of the house and bring them over , And I didn’t get the voice message. She made some disapproving remarks about me stopping and having 2 beers. I got a bit of the red ass about that and when she said I was coming inside to talk…

I just separated from my wife if 39 years a couple months ago. I am so relieved to be away from the negativity that it’s amazing. For now, I am content with taking it easy and relaxing. I’m 61, so I don’t really care about sex too much, but I miss female company and contact to the point that I’ll have to get out there at some point.
