Being authentic doesn't mean what you think it means. Think of it from the other perspective, you meet some guy and think you'd hit it off but he just brings down the vibe by dumping his depression and neediness on you. Of course they wouldnt want to continue the interaction. They'll have to assume all you'll talk about is your bad vibes. Being authentic means doing things that interest you, sharing you're interests unabashedly. I'd rather talk to someone who was really into trains, who can tell…

The only advice I see here is 1. Don’t be a creep 2. Try to be unique or memorable with your first impression 3. “Don’t let rejection stop you” which I take to mean if one woman rejects you don’t be afraid to continue trying with other women. All the advice here is pretty standard with what else I’ve seen on this sub. Sounds like a couple of people in the comments are just uppity because….. OP had an interaction with a man that wasn’t her SO?
