It's been said that for men sexuality is much more likely to be one-dimensional. Regardless of whether it's nature or nurture or choice (or most likely a combination of all three), men are more likely to be just gay or just straight. Of course their are many bisexual men but I'm dealing in probabilities and statistics right now. On the other hand, female sexuality seems to be much more fluid. Females will generally gravitate towards whatever is put in front of them when in a state of arousal, ma…

I wrote this comment on the Ohlala post the other day but I don't think anyone saw it so I'll recycle it here: Prostitution should be legal. Promiscuity is legal. Any girl can go out out and suck a hundred dicks, she can set up a sign and have people form a line and every time she finishes someone off she could yell next if she really wanted to, and it would be completely legal. But all the sudden when money is involved it becomes illegal? Why should it be that way? Sex trafficking and rape and …

Pretty sure that is Sperm Wars, but yeah he does mention that, and if you examine the anatomical and physiological evidence presented, it's not as far-fetched is it sounds.

It sounds like you haven't even read it. He has a couple chapters discussing how we are more closely related to bonobos than chimps using evidence like a higher degree of genetic similarity and some other things I can't think of off the top of my head. He literally dedicates multiple pages to that evidence because it is central to argument he is trying to make. A lot of people are telling me to check out Sex at Dusk, the antithesis to Ryan's argument, I intend to but haven't yet. I'm not saying …

Our ancestors had the exact same problems we have now, and hence why the developed strong restrictive cultures What do you mean? They did not have the same problems we have now. We have a lot of very different problems, a lot of them a result of strong restrictive cultures. And by the way the development of restrictive societies was most likely due to the development of agriculture, because people needed to protect their land. You think we built society because people wanted to control their hum…

I'm not saying that sexual strategies in prehistory were in perfect harmony, but I definitely see how they could have been more compatible before all the ideas imposed on us by culture and society. Other commenters have mentioned Sex at Dusk is a good refutation of many of the arguments Ryan proposes, I'll have to read that before I support anymore of the ideas in Sex at Dawn.

Man I know that shit hurts, I've been there. I loved a girl who didn't love me, I could literally feel physical pain when I thought about everything. Sometimes I still do. But I wouldn't change a thing, honestly I should be thanking the dumb bitch that broke my heart. Without that reality shock I would've never become who I am now. I would've continued to avoid the gym, continued to go out boozing regularly, continued to just do the bare minimum for my classes. Now I look in the mirror and I'm p…

Agree to disagree. Please note I am talking about hunter-gatherer societies before recorded history, not early civilizations, I'm talking tens of thousands of years ago. I think you're giving prehistoric hunter-gather bands too much credit. Even primitive societies that exist today don't fully understand reproduction, they believe things like shared paternity, the idea that a child has more than one father. And I hate to break it to you, but no one was limiting the birthrate thousands of years a…

No, easy access to sex is not making men less manly. I've been considering writing a post on Christopher Ryan's book 'Sex at Dawn', it's an exploration of sexual dynamics in prehistoric hunter-gatherer societies (this is ~95% of our time as anatomically modern homo sapiens). It's a great read, highly recommend to everyone here. Hunter-gatherer societies were very promiscuous with each individual having multiple sexual partners. Thousands of years ago, men (and women) were having sex everyday, mu…

I take krill oil (as opposed to fish oil) which has incidental astaxanthin. I haven't read much about astaxanthin, all I know is it's an antioxidant. I am pretty fair skinned and have never heard that it can help prevent sunburn. The brand I take contains "150 mcg esterified astaxanthin", is this enough to get the benefits you mention?

Your option isn't bad, but I would still have a consultation with a lawyer before doing anything. What if her name is on the lease? We don't know all the information or possibilities, a lawyer can do a better job of taking those things into account in the context of the law. I'm not saying wait months for litigation, just go get a consult this week and bounce your ideas off your lawyer and make sure you're not about to unintentionally cross any lines. Remember the times we live in, we don't want…

That is the nuclear option and a pretty tough rabbit hole to dive right into. I think OP would be better off talking to a lawyer like some of the other comments suggest. Have a plan for different possibilities including her bouncing or (worst-case scenario) she gets sick of you and tries to cry abuse or something to get all those juicy cash prizes. Having a plan will make you less anxious about the whole problem and will give you a stronger frame, which she will hopefully respect more. Positive …

What specifically has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt though. And by who? Jokes aside though, I haven't actually read the book but I heard some guys on a podcast mention it and say that a lot of the things discussed were speculation. I think I remember them mentioning that the idea that their are special cells in semen that seek and destroy other men's sperm is bs. But maybe I'm misremembering, like I said, I haven't read the book.

Yeah man, I had a childhood friend die last year. We were close in high school but I hadn't talked to him much since I left for college. It was one of those things where I couldn't feel anything when I was at his funeral, for some reason it just didn't hurt like I thought it should've and I almost felt bad for not feeling sad enough. This year I started remembering all the great memories we had on snowboarding trips during high school when I got on the slopes again and hit me like a fuckin ton o…

It'll be hard to still be wealthy after paying for 5 separate surrogacies, isn't the average cost of surrogacy like $30,000? And then the cost of raising a child ends up being about $275,000 each (I think that's a lowball estimate). Whatever highly lucrative market you're getting into, can I come too?

Even when using f.lux I still recommend getting off the computer, turning off the tv, setting the phone aside for about an hour before bed. Use this time to read, meditate, whatever, but try to avoid any screens during this time and you will feel much better when your head finally hits that pillow.

The way I've seen sigma described is it's like an anti-beta. So if alpha is good looking and well off (I'm over-simplifying right now), beta is bad looking and well off, omega is neither. Sigma is good looking and not well off, think surfer Chad with no money. Imagine 4 quadrants of a graph where x is attractiveness and y is resources. Alpha=(+x,+y) Beta=(-x,+y) Omega=(-x,-y) Sigma=(+x,-y)

I'm really interested in this. It sounds great to be able to have so much free time for self-improvement, research, and working on creating a passive income. I have a new plate with a very high sex drive. We hangout about every other day and have sex 2-3 times every time we're together. I get the feeling that, even though she seems to really like me, withdrawing my presence just for a few days would create a sexless vacuum that she could not exist in. If person doesn't want to right their wrongs - only then it's a "next". That is a condition, I don't mean to get into semantics but you cannot call it unconditional love if you withdraw your love under any condition or for any reason. Other than the semantics of calling it unconditional or conditional love I agree with you. A relationship where both parties feel comfortable pointing out the other's flaws in a supportive/constructive way without fear of reproach does seem ideal.

If you want to learn about different cultures/styles of cooking I recommend watching anything Anthony Bourdain, he's got good shows. I said I was gonna stop arguing with you, but before I go the last thing I'm gonna point out is you're also way to obsessed with dick size. In my experience most girls don't want to fuck a ridiculously huge dick, it would literally hurt. Pleasurable sex is all about how you use your dick, different penetration angles, good rhythm, displaying dominance, not more or less inches. I seriously starting to think you're just a massive troll.

I'm done arguing with man, you seem way over-invested in imaginary race wars. You're probably better off hitting the gym than obsessing over all this, I'd probably be better off doing the same than wasting my time trying to compete with your over-zealous viewpoints. Adios.

I think OP addresses this with: as much as TRP might shoot down this hunger for validation, I feel that deep down this satisfying to us as men no matter how much we try to deny I definitely agree with this. Rationally, in the higher order processing centers of the brain I completely understand and agree with you and I know I shouldn't give a fuck about what other people think of me and all that really matters is what I think and my own relative level of happiness (phat run on but idgaf). I saw her today and I let her know that if she wants to keep fucking me she can only fuck me, also told her we wouldn't be having sex again until I saw a clean bill of health signed by a Dr. She agreed to both, will she hold up her agreement? I guess I just mean I couldn't think of a wording that didn't sound awkward. I definitely don't feel apologetic, I wanted a way to word it that didn't sound hostile, but more like a low key way to say this is what you're gonna give me or we're done. She just bought me lunch and we talked. I told her if she wants to keep fucking me she can only fuck me and that I will see a certificate of good health signed by a licensed M.D. before we have sex again.

What would you say are the concrete differences in west coast and east coast styles? From watching the attached video it seems like west coast has more freedom of expression and is not as structured as the style I've been learning. I've heard of people making a natural sunscreen from coconut oil and shea butter and other stuff. It only ends being like a sub-15 spf I think. But still better than rubbing cancer into your pores. I haven't tried it though so idk about the effectiveness. I don't normally use sunscreen.

I got to the gym around 7, did squats, OH press, and deadlifts (still doing SL 5x5, 8 weeks in right now, I want to change my routine to something a little more rigorous once I complete 12 weeks). Spent most of the rest of the day walking aroun…

By no means am I an alcohol expert, however when I saw You order Jose Cuervo a giant red flag shot up. Tequila is my drink of choice and I used to get Jose mainly. I didn't find out until a few months ago that Jose is actually rather low quality tequila. According to the bartenders at the restaurant I worked at over the summer (and later confirmed with some googling) I learned that their exist many types of tequila that are better quality AND cheaper, you actually can't go wrong avoiding Jose. Just replying to the title of the post rn: They absolutely do, I had this girl over that I met at swing dance. Once we progresed from netflix and chill to making out, I started rubbing her pussy, and then she hits me with the "I don't want to lead you on, but I'm not having sex with you tonight." I try to roll through it with the whole agree & amplify, yeah sure we're not, but still moving forward gradually because she was obviously into it. Good rule, I find myself falling into this trap a lot. I am a college student at a university where beautiful girls are abundant and I find myself saying "Nah, I'll talk to her tomorrow" or telling myself I'll have a better oppurtunity some other time because I see them around all the time. I'm sure some people would see this as taking my, somewhat awesome, position for granted, and I'd agree. I need to start implementing this rule in my life.

Lots of NoVA people at my college. I'm a junior and couldn't rush until this spring or next fall theoretically, which would mean only being an active member for a little over a year. And that hypothetical only works if this Fraternity made it to my school in the next semester or two which seems highly unlikely right now. I still think it's a cool idea and wish you guys the best of luck with it.

If you feel weird not looking like your'e drinking, just get an empty cup and put ice water in it, or soda water or something in it. Problem solved, you've got a beverage in your hand just like everyone else, but you're not getting drunk like you want.

Stop overthinking looks. You should just go off a binary scale: She could get it (1) OR She could not get it (0). The 1-10 scale is a subtle way of putting women on a pedestal. A 10 doesn't want you to be twice as nervous, awkward, and anxious when you approach her than when you approach her friend Suzie 6.5. Don't overthink or overcomplicate what a girl looks like and then let that determine the interaction before it ever starts, say she's attractive and I think I want to get to know her, then …

Start saving an emergency fund. Having thousands put aside in case of an unpredictable life event is one of the realest types of outcome independence. You never know when you might break your femur and have to pay a doctor, a feminist could sue you for eye raping her on the bus and you could need to hire a lawyer suddenly, your car could spontaneously break down and require thousands in repair work. In all these situations you'd be glad you had $5000 put aside just in case of something like that…

That makes me sad to think about. I'd want to be in my child's life. I'm only 20 but I'm pretty sure I want kids at some point. And everyone says the best environment for a child to grow in, is the nuclear family. But everyone also says never get married, reasoning for which is obvious to me. So the paradox is how do you have kids, without getting married, but also provide the best possible environment to grow where both the mother and father can be involved in the child's life. Seems like the o…

You want to appear to be light triad to everyone around you, I saw a post on the main sub the other day that said something like business is all about who can get the most people to trust them. At the same time you want to always be thinking Dark Triad. Appearing to be light triad is, in a way, Dark Triad, it's machiavellian because it's manipulation of how other people see you.

I'd say it depends on a lot of things, the size of the group, what the group exists for (is it a club, a team, a bunch of friends), what you know about them, what they know about you, what you expect your role to be if you become a part of the group, there is probably no one size fits all way to meet new people.

I saw a LPT once that said something along the lines of in an emergency don't just yell out "Somebody call 911", it is much more effective to just pick someone, anyone, look them straight in the eye and say "You, call 911". Bystander effect is real, if you don't choose someone and just yell out the generic someone call for help everyone will expect someone else to do it.

The primal diet recommends that when you start out with it, remove all dairy from your diet (for about 30-60 days), then slowly add healthy forms of dairy back into your diet and pay attention to how it affects you. It advocates raw milk, instead of the ultra pasteurized, homogenized stuff you see in regular grocery stores. Not in large amounts either, there is nothing wrong with homemade greek yogurt, made from raw milk. I don't blindly support drinking skim milk and eating go-gurt because I he…

A good diet to look at is Mark Sisson's primal diet. It is similar to paleo ideologically, but less strict. Though it does use the diet's of our ancestors as a model for healthy eating it also focuses on common sense healthy choices. It allows for dairy, supplements like fish oil and protein powder, and other things that, even though they weren't available to our ancestors, are still obvious healthy choices in modern society. I highly recommend checking it out. His book the primal blueprint is a…

"For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and…

I read a proverb (maybe buddhist?) that boiled down to 'The glass I hold is already broken, because it will inevitably break some day no matter what I do. Since it is already broken that makes every moment with it more special'. It applies to everything in life in a way, even the people around you. Cherish every moment because it will be gone sooner than you think.

That is a good argument. There will always be exceptions (Steve Jobs, Abraham Lincoln) to my rule of 'poor parenting=poorly raised children' just like any other rule. I said that in my last reply. Poor parenting often results in poorly raised children, of course there are many exceptions to this. I am very much for those who have had setbacks in their life, overcoming those setbacks. Do you support everyone, regardless of their situation in life, having 3 children? People who do not have the finances to support children or people who have other problems in their life that would make them a poor parent. Do you think everyone of those people should have 3 children? My point is that setting …

An interesting idea. I do not identify with any religion so I couldn't care less about what catholics require or do not require. Regardless of what is required for society to grow, it is still everyone's individual decision to have children or not. And if EVERYONE had 3 children, even the people who would raise those children poorly, it could still prove to be detrimental to society. Even though they have met your arbitrary quota.

I'm a white guy with blue eyes, and because white people have become a global minority and the majority of the population is becoming more coffee colored over time, I was thinking having kids with someone with darker skin than I would put my kids in a more advantageous position. And also they wouldn't get sunburnt as easy as me, they'd probably like that.
