I too have been curious about this notion. I hope this question receives a sincere answer. Nobody's perfect, but I think belated honesty is better than withholding it.

This is an app of quotes somebody here has made. Very simple - just tap the screen and it randomly scrolls through quotes/advice that had been collected at some point. It's entertaining to browse while you're waiting in line, or something.

Coincidentally, there is this video which uses entertaining visuals to describe what you just did. It's a good lesson to learn and be aware of. Thank you for the post!

The main point is precisely to not think of yourself, but to explore the wants & desires of the other person. Find out what makes them tick. Be genuinely curious. Engage that person to share his/her mind. Being selfless is far more rewarding than we realize, yet so few are willing to take that time away from themselves. Be that great person, achieve the great feeling of being a social creature, rather than a selfish individual.

A recent example I can share is when I went to a theme park. I was the third wheel but I was by far the most active one; I said we're going on these rides, I started conversations and had them talking to the group (instead of mutually between themselves), at down times I brought the mood back up by telling a few jokes, and overall I made it easy for them to enjoy being with me. Nothing was uncomfortable, and nothing suggested I was "thirsty." So my advice is, lead the group, and be an interestin…

Look at all this free time you have to do all the cool things you want to do now! Pursue your hobbies/interests, learn new skills, talk to everyone, and of course, (continue to) lift. Be your own man, buddy.

I made a small income from dog sitting/boarding. There are sites that will connect you with pet owners who go on vacation and don't want to put the animal in a kennel. It's a simple job, so long as you set aside sufficient time to care for it.

While you are correct about the strategy (I know of it too), the studio I attend has 5 professional dancers. The owners are professional choreographers. All of them have been dancing since near birth, and have traveled from their countries to be here today. English definitely isn't their first language, and doubt it's even the second. I'll go ahead and admit I haven't been around nearly as long as you, but in this time I have met a number of talented and wise people, from students, to teachers a…

Offering the ticket was my way of dismissing a bullshit excuse of not wanting to buy it. I just wanted to see that she clearly had no interest of going, it solidified my perception of her. Either way, whether I offered or not, her message was clear. But thank you. Most people are dissing what I believed was a personal achievement, and honestly I didn't want to sound like I was totally into her. That's not the case. If it was, this post would be a failure in how a didn't woo the girl. I just want…

It's obvious you love her and lament her loss. She may have the qualities you describe (same qualities we all like), but lacks the fundamental one: any interest in you. Are you nuts? I'm not at all lamenting her loss, and she doesn't demonstrate any of those good qualities. I can clearly see there was no interest, hence no lament. I know I wasn't important, and you can see the takeaway in my lessons learned. There was no message in between the lines, it should have been clear.

I think we can play along with the idea to "fake it 'til you make it" But don't focus on what other people are attracted to, focus on how those attributes positively affect your life.

Be more assertive. If she likes you, she will either make the time for you, or suggest an alternative time. You shouldn't be so concerned with her plans.

It is mentioned elsewhere in the comments, the idea being, your pelvic bone is rubbing across her pelvic bone, kind of up & down. You aren't necessarily bringing yourself in and out, but rather your body/hips are thrusting across hers. Your shaft is stimulating her clit.

You're right I agree, I thought about this after submitting this post. I thought I may have come off by saying "you need friends" or otherwise implying my happiness stems from being with people. No, I'm happy because I'm doing what I like to do; being with people makes the experience worthwhile in the long run. I see how this post has Blue Pill ideologies, and like you say, one must separate the difference of being in a herd versus free from it, and to use the herd for your benefit/well being. O…

A language class. Seriously. You are forced to talk to guys and girls in class, plus you're learning a new language. I've found that my classes have been majority female. Plus the beginning of classes usually focus on greeting and learning about people. There's also speech & debate classes. Again, lots of talking opportunities. And then I recommend art classes; I've had the best experiences in sculpting classes, which have been really laid back.

This may be daft advice but put yourself in their perspective; if you were an attractive girl, where would you go to meet guys? I've tried to convince my divorced mother, who's searching for a wealthy guy, to go to a car show, because a man with a nice car is likely wealthy and also divorced! Anyway some real advice: don't be afraid to approach a girl at a coffee shop, or the mall, or a grocery store. More importantly, don't be going out to "look" for them; that which you seek may be hidden in p…

What are your goals? Short term and long term? What are you doing to improve yourself, to improve your life? Who are you dependent on? Why do you want to live? What are you living for? What are your hobbies, your passions, your creative outlets, your money-makers, your skills, your worth? These are a few of many questions for you to ask yourself. You are losing yourself you say, then your priority is to find yourself. What do you want out of your life, and how are you going to make that happen? …

You're a lucky one to have a girl like this tag onto you. I just want to emphasize the above comment, "it's just your turn." Enjoy it, explore it, you could really shape her into something great. But don't let yourself get sucked in when you lose it, when she gets bored and leaves; just enjoy the experience and keep moving forward.

I had a similar situation to this, a girl that liked me wanted to to go to her bonfire with her friends. I was busy but didn't shut down the idea, I saw her again the next week when I could. I met her friends down the line when I became committed to the girl. The timing was too soon for me to be comfortable around her and her friends. If she really wants her friends to meet you, she'll make it happen at a time you can agree on. Just keep it in a positive note.

Seek tutoring. Your college has a center for this, guaranteed. You'll learn with like-minded people (hey cool, meeting new people!) and you'll understand the material better. Also talk to your classmates (hey, people!) and your professor; the prof always has suggestions and can go over the material with you during office hours. Use the gym as a reward. You like going to the gym? Great! but first, do a little homework first. Set a small attainable goal. Come back to the rest, and reward yourself …

Use your hair as a conversation piece. Your hair doesn't define you. Laugh at it like you're completely comfortable with yourself. Turn it into a great story, "...the barber kept going on about how his dog doesn't shut the hell up but his wife adores the thing endlessly. Needless you say, his mind wasn't on the razor, and my mind wasn't focused on a good tip." Doesn't matter what the fuck the story is. Yes, stoicism is the proper method for controlling your mood in public. However, when on your own, channel that energy into a creative outlet. Paint. Write. Draw. Film. Dance. Build. Create. In all seriousness, a well rounded man has an artistic side. You can let yourself go in your medium of choice, and this would settle your mind in the real world, in which you remain stoic. You have the potential for greatness. Don't hide it, learn to channel it into something beautiful.

Is it family education? Father role model? In my perspective, yes, with the addition of friends/peers with similar mindsets. what she did or was that was oh-so-great I didn't find it beneficial to reminisce through memories with her that I wish to forget, but as you point out, it is worth understanding what good she brought to my heart and my life. I'll add that these days, there is the assumption that the person you are texting is also looking at the phone to see the text. So that person has the obligation to respond to a message you might have sent. See what I mean? People are on their phones because other people are on their phones, responding to each other. It's not even about attention-seeking, it could be as simple as being courteous, replying to a message in a timely manner. Therefore the phone is checked often, to see the message. …

I know of the 2/3rds principle, of giving two for every three acts of kindness. I'm not going with her to the warped tour because she's bailed on several other instances we should have spent together. It's a shame she's using this to reason, I'm not buying it. You're right about her projecting her unhappiness onto me, she should know she controls it. And yes I know I tear her down, but I'm not going to tell her why. I honestly want to keep her around, for practice to build myself up against this…

Alright what more context would help? I'm big on spending time together also, but I don't force it. She's been "busy" and I've felt disrespected by her lack of keeping me in he loop. I'm living my life as well, is her choice to be in it. I'm having difficulty understanding how to care for her, but not too much, you know what I mean? Lastly, we haven't exchanged the ever-so-heartfelt "I love you" because I know its power to her, a final phase of commitment I won't let myself into yet.

I chose to go to satisfy my curiosity. I wanted to see what the buzz is about, to see how people act in that environment. I think most every activity is worth considering trying.

So what do you do when you've been on the floor? What indication do you have that you've spent enough time on the floor? How/what do you do to get off, and what do you do after that?

and get over your approach anxiety/fear of rejection. Honestly, it's a shame to say, but I don't fear rejection, I fear acceptance. All I've gotten is rejection, so that's what I'm used to. I have difficulty in moving past introductions.

What's your motive? How do I justify the distraction? Honestly yes, I am being considerate, it is how I was raised.

It reminds me of something my 9 year old niece would make That actually sounds insulting, unless my "niece" is a really talented painter. For the sake of the metaphor, how about, my mother. You know, a believable someone with talent.

If she was your one-and-only, the problem may lie in that she is your benchmark against every other girl you compare. You can never improve and move past her if you don't practice the little things with other girls. Once you explore, she becomes a mere memory, if at all. I know it's not easy to just forget, but each day spent talking to other girls means less and less time remembering. Realize that you will struggle, but you must accept it and try, try again. Build your experience. College is an…

Kids these days are becoming softer, they're not responding as you would expect older women to act. They may be used to being surrounded by weak men, so you would come off as strong and unfamiliar.....creepy.

So glad to see someone say this. Overpopulation has also become a recent matter in society, with resources being used quicker. However this issue is more prevalent in places like India and China than in the US and Japan. Anyway, this is the cure for overpopulation. No cure comes without side effects.

Regarding the second clip, I think he's misinterpreting it. His joke is based on "girls like smart guys" which I believe to be true, however that should not imply girls like smarter guys, in comparison to themselves. A smart girl liking a smart guy doesn't imply she like him for being smarter, but that he's intelligent in his own regard. Right me if I don't understand.
