Well I was mostly responding to this particular line everything is about context. everything. there isnt a single context where carrying a basooka is legal That is why context is not always "everything". If you're carrying a bazooka you're getting arrested not because of the circumstance that led to you having a bazooka, but because you're carrying a bazooka.

Saying women should have equal membership based solely on gender requires you to give X group the same treatment unless you make an arbitrary distinction. Giving women equal membership does not entitle or even imply entitlement to any other group. But I guess we'll just have to watch, since it IS a 50/50 cabinet. If you're right, they'll start imposing more diverse representation. But I think it's pretty clear that this is just a one-time change to switch it up.

I do see how that would become absurd. But what does that have to do with anything? There's an obvious difference between giving women representation on the cabinet and making sure every single medical symptom possible is present on the cabinet. I wish we lived in a world where politics were 100% blind to gender, but historically that has not been the case, so for the time being, it makes sense to have some rules in place to ensure we don't end up with another cabinet of old white dudes looking …

I feel like a lot of this sub is just women getting arrested for crimes. Like I'm down to see a woman try and use her gender as a defence for doing something illegal and then getting shut down. But that's not what's happening so these are just pretty plain news stories.
