Yawn, is that really all you've got? I've gotten slapped before, so I guess I can call myself a victim of domestic abuse? Worse, you're trying to cherry-pick from your own sources considering that none of them actually give a 50/50 split. Use your brain, be honest: do you really think that domestic violence towards men is as prevalent as it is towards women, AND do you think that the magnitude of that violence is at all similar?

No, there are clear biological differences in the way that men and women generally operate. Men are physically stronger than women; your classical case of DV is the result of the man using this strength to get his way, and the woman being unable to fight back. This power dynamic does not exist in a supposed case of woman-on-man DV. Women are also much more prone to emotional manipulation than men, which is another important factor of long-term DV.

Domestic violence is something that happens over months or years, it's not just a single episode of violence. I'm sure men get stabbed by their girlfriends all the time, but was she just fighting back/tired of his shit? Or was this the culmination of something that's been going on for a long time? What proportion of your supposed 50% of DV cases do you think are like this?

Yeah right, if your "reliable source" is Vox Day or some other MRA creep. You can't honestly tell me, with a straight face, that the domestic abuse that men subject women to is in any way comparable to the opposite. I've seen women come in, I saw their IDs, I couldn't tell they were the same person, they'd been beaten so badly. If you're a man and you're getting "domestically abused" by your girlfriend/wife, I'm sorry, but you're just a pussy.

I volunteer at a shelter for battered women, the things I hear and see there are so awful, some of the women that stay have been beaten so badly that they're functionally retarded. Maybe I can't change the world, but if I can save just a few people from a life of torture then I'd like to think I did something worth doing.
