Don't listen to these people telling you to lose weight first. Eat at a maintenance or slightly higher than maintenance calories and lift weights like a fucking machine. Eating less whilst lifting is pointless as you need calories to build muscle.

You obviously don't know the difference between causation and correlation. There are thousands of studies that show correlation between things, it doesn't mean I believe any of them because they haven't shown a cause, and so LOADS of other factors are involved. It's very hard to show causation.
