Well hiring a raging feminist to do a commercial people perceive as woke (evidenced by what they even said themselves) is stupid because it alienated their base. People can choose not to buy a product for any reason they decide. It's dumb for a company to alienate their fanbase. It has already hurt a lot of companies and Nissan has already disabled comments and is performing somewhat poorly recently. This won't help them. They have been making these "man bad, woman good" shows and commercials for some time. However, look at the backlash they have been getting in the comments in downvotes. Both videos have over a 90% dislike rate and Nissan disabled comments entirely on their own video. Watching behind the scenes it was talking about the imbalance of "male dominated industries". The video was essentially implying that the "white straight male" didn't promote her simply because she's a woman. There was no context about why she didn't get promoted. Such as "we have a lot of layoffs so we can't promote you". In this case it would make sense to compromise if there is a reasonable circumstance that led to her being passed up.

I think the backlash isn't coming from the message of "Don't compromise" but more of the way it is portrayed as the "straight white male" is holding her back. The problem is the perverse incentive. If people know they will be subsidized for being irresponsible they will keep doing it. Before all of these programs and handouts single motherhood was basically negligible. For the very few in legitimately bad situations private charity can help them out.
