Sounds to me like you're very insecure, and this is a line of bull he has been feeding you that you have been manipulated into believing. Honestly, I'd run for your own mental health and sanity. You'll be amazed what you can accomplish without a manipulative, controlling POS husband. God forbid you have children who grow up thinking this is a normal relationship. Edit: typos

You are beyond a "submissive wife." This is not RPW that you describe. Your husband is controlling and abusive. What you describe is not a partnership at all.

So your husband is frustrated that he doesn't have enough time to focus on his side hustle, so you are quitting your job? Are you planning to help with this gig? Cuz it doesn't sound like it, but more you want to travel and enjoy life. Do you have a plan with what you are going to do to fulfill your time? It will become really old really quickly when you are dependent on your husband, not just for your lifestyle, but for attention, conversation, etc. You sound determined and decided. Everyone ha…

I would not just quit your job without children or something else lined up. You may find yourself in a situation where you need or want to go back to work, and you will have an inexplicable employment gap (I wanted to quit my job and become a housewife wouldn't look so hot for potential employers). Not sure your reasoning, but it could also lead to resentment from your spouse I was fortunate to be able to stay home when I had my first child. When my youngest was 3, I really felt the pressure to …

Well that's a predicament. I would just make sure you are being paid as a documented employee, and not something casual, under the table, etc. If he walks, you don't want to be screwed with no clear employment history (or a large gap) documented. If he questions this, be clear you need security for you and the baby, whether that's an employment contract /w2, or a marriage.

I'm not sure you can, but for you and your baby's security I would find a job. And I would tell him in order to feel secure, that without marriage you need to protect yourself and your baby's future since he isnt ensuring it. If he can have a baby, but not a commitment of marriage, I would not be banking my security on this guy right now.

I second the comment above. If he doesn't want to be "pressured" into marriage even though you are having his baby, you need to protect yourself. As ideal as it may be to stay home with your baby, he's leaving a wide open door for you into single motherhood if it's so hard to make a commitment. It would be smartest to have a career to support yourself need be.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
