Exactly! If you really love someone you’ll make an effort to show it in a way that they understand

And the advice these women are given... “you just need to cOmmUNicaTe”, “maybe he has a different love language”, “why don’t YOU plan something instead?”, ALL of this benefits men at the expense of women. I swear FDS is one of the only places we can get advice that’s really for women.

That was beautiful, I literally gagged at “smol bean”

YES so true! If you’re too much of a coward to ask me out properly, you’re not the kind of person I would ever date anyways.

Hi, I also have social anxiety and it was difficult for me to practice being more assertive at first too. Us women are socialized to be polite and gentle above all else, and it’s to our detriment. Why in the world should we care about a mans feelings if he doesn’t care about ours? Proud of you for ghosting, please also block and delete for your safety! I’ve also found that 90% of the men in my classes who want to be “friends” don’t actually mean that... then they have the audacity to complain ab…

Thanks for bringing that up, good point!

I don’t even think it’s that hard for men to get sex if that’s what they really want, the bar is so low at this point that all they have to do is put in a little effort to not be totally disgusting and to treat women like actual human beings. But they don’t want to hear that, they just want to hear that we’re all bitches and whores who are too shallow to see what nice guys they are

Same! I would really love to just sleep outside in the open on a summer night, if only it were safe to do so

BuT MeN cAn bE sExuALly AsSauLteD toO Of course that’s true, and it’s awful when anyone is assaulted regardless of gender, but it’s funny how most men only bring that up when women are talking about their experiences. The risk of sexual assault doesn’t permeate their everyday lives the way it does for us, yet scrotes want to make it all about themselves (like usual)

WTF that’s so scary! Thank god you didn’t open the door, sounds like those creeps definitely had bad intentions. I’m so grateful for you and all the other ladies sharing their stories + safety tips! It’s sad that this is so relevant, but I feel lucky to have advice from such a supportive and wise community

Thank you for the Raid tip! Pepper spray is illegal in my country so I’ll definitely look into Raid

I never thought about it that way! But you’re right, the way I’ve seen adult male and adult female children still living at home act is totally different, likely because of different expectations

In the fall, I’ll be moving alone to the other side of the country for work... maybe I should get a dog?

WTF that is rape! I remember reading about this study where women were asked whether their boyfriend/husband had ever raped them, and most of them said no. Then the questioner changed the wording to ask whether he had ever had sex with them without their consent, and suddenly a lot of these women were saying yes. It’s scary how society has normalized this kind of behavior to the point where we barely notice anything’s wrong anymore

I don’t think men are capable of comprehending the concept of equality. I’ve had these kinds of conversations with male acquaintances before and some of them have literally said “equal rights, equal fights”. Like WTF, I’m just saying that I want the same opportunities men have and your first thought is that you want to FIGHT me?

I used to be a compulsive shopper too, so I’m kind of in the same boat. If I’m ever feeling down some things that help me are doing yoga, playing the piano, or calling a friend. I really like some of the ideas the other ladies listed down below too, like taking a bubble bath or baking!

Under the guise of equality us women now take on at least as much responsibility in a marriage as men, usually more since women often work as well as running the household and providing emotional labor. Yet we still don’t have equal pay, equal opportunities, equal rights. If we have children it’s our career and social life that don’t recover. I really don’t think I want to get married anymore. My little sister and I are thinking of buying a house together when we’re older and adopting children t…

I was groomed into becoming a sugar baby at just 18 by a much older “friend”, and for years I didn’t understand why something that was supposed to be empowering made me feel so awful about myself. I finally get it now - the money was great but it wasn’t worth my dignity!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
