I didn’t even think of makeup as having to do with this lol. I don’t wear much either but in terms of my emotional well-being, I generally care for myself and my partner is a bonus so that might seem less high maintenance than a codependent woman… but I’m “higher” maintenance in the sense that I want consistent communication with my partner and to see him more than once a week and to have deeper conversations. I know supposedly low maintenance chill girls who are actually highly codependent.

I’m a woman and tbh I’d love it if we all woke up tomorrow and either makeup didn’t exist anymore (same with beauty procedures) or you could only pick one makeup item to use every day. No surgeries or what ever allowed. It’d make natural and real beauty more evident. But the benefits of looking your best are obvious and women definitely do it to themselves the most, to compete for men. It’s that simple. And women do police other women far more.

There are some things you should be ok settling for and some things that are dealbreakers. A partner treating you like garbage should be a dealbreaker. A partner not being your exact ideal height or weight should not be a dealbreaker, but within reason, it can't deviate so hard that you aren't attracted... but a lot of people get overly obsessed with looks too, like they think they can command a certain person even though they've literally never gotten commitment from someone like that before. L…

Being in a couple is way smarter financially-speaking, for both parties, particularly if you have similar-ish incomes. There's no question about that. I don't agree that men in urban areas are pickier in general. I think there is a subset of men in cities (especially cities with too many women) who get this way, but then they end up shooting themselves in the foot or regret it eventually because the good ones are gone and some women aren't willing to date men their age. I know women in their 20s…

Nah I like my men 2 years older to 5 years younger lol... most women I know would rather date a bit younger than go a lot older.

Yeah it just depends on where you live, how you age, etc. I do think American culture is obsessed with youth, so I can see how the "wall" thing may happen for people earlier there. But my cousin's Californian and she's 35 and attracts great guys. So it depends where you live too. In much of Europe (outside of parts of Eastern Europe)... 34 is still seen as young-young lol. All relative.

Uhh I mean that's not true. I know women who have not had an opportunity or proposal yet... Yes, that's true. I personally am not married yet because I haven't met someone I wanna actually marry, but yes I have men in my life that I know would want partnership with me. But yes, I have friends who haven't met any men who want to commit to them. I think there are reasons for it though. The issue is more so meeting a quality guy you actually wanna be married to. Because these men tend to pair off b…

Not yet, but not for lack of opportunity. I have really only become mature and secure enough for marriage in the last 2 years.

This is an internet forum, you don't even know if these people are real people lol. Don't base so much on that. And how do you know that 70% has dealt with that? Like, what are you basing this off of?

Okay I guess you know where to begin lol. If it makes you feel better, I workout 5x a week and actively work on my body. I enjoy feeling healthier and more fit... it's definitely helped my confidence a lot.

I know women who've experienced this as well though. I don't think it's just me. I've always been fairly emotionally intelligent and a good listener, I like to ask a lot of questions. I'm sure part of it has something to do with my ability to connect and empathize.

I wouldn't call it a wall for everyone but some people experience a reality check... either their health deteriorates quickly and they can't attract the same people anymore, or they start looking bad, or everyone around them is paired up so they have fewer options, that kind of thing. As a woman, I know i'm not at all my "wall" age yet despite being 34. I still get stares, looked at, asked out, pursued, and I'm not even in a place where settling down later is the norm. If I moved to one of those…

I mean he's 6'6 or 6'7, I don't really blame him for wanting someone taller than average. It's probably painful to date someone way shorter for him. The guy I'm seeing right now is 6'4 and honestly it feels just a tad too tall but I like him so I'm not going to not see where it goes just because he's a bit tall for me.

I personally haven't been but I haven't slept around. My experience has been if I do anything sexual and remove any clothing, the man wants to lock it down asap lol. I remember the first time I did anything really sexual, I was 22 or 23, and the guy would NOT stop bothering me for a couple of weeks, like constant texts and literally started getting romantic. I feel so bad for ghosting him so hard to this day but I was avoidant and not prepared to have a boyfriend, and felt immense shame around d…

I'm 5'5 but I'm a woman. I'm not attracted to men who are shorter than 5'8. It's just never happened. They're totally fine guys but I personally just feel too big for the shorter guys, and I'm not overweight or anything. I'm just a petite-medium curvy build and I'm not short for a woman, so it just doesn't feel right. Short for a woman is like... 5'3 and under, and those are the women to target if you're below 5'8. Either that or date women your height because taller women sometimes are also ope…

I was like this too until I healed it and had enough time on my own. I can empathize though. Childhood abuse can make you avoidant unfortunately.

I agree re slow texters but maybe not during the work day depending on what someone does. Not everyone is as glued to their phones. I agree with #1. I refuse to plan dates or take a lot of initiative early on. I don't think I've ever asked a man out first for a second date, they always make it clear they want another date. A guy who waits for me, whether it's insecurity or what ever, is gonna lose out. As women, we have things we unfairly take on and being the leader early on in courtship is 100…

Confidence isn't a gendered thing to me. That aside, I have the traits you listed. A lot of men make note of it when they date me as if it's rare, but I didn't see those traits as that rare. It just sucks when you attract men who lack leadership skills because you happen to be good at that lol. Feminine traits I like in men (just as long as they don't outbalance mine) - nurturing, caring, empathetic, compassionate, being a good listener, patient, emotionally intelligent, good with kids, good wit…

No, it's because they want a consensual, mutual relationship and they understand that paying for it isn't real. It's not as much about social shaming at least for the guys I know, they do what they need to do in general but they also want a genuine thing. I also think a lot of men would never settle down with a prostitute or sex worker because they just find it gross in that sense. And a lot of men I think are genuinely looking for love whether they know it or not lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/24 09:13 PM

Not biased, just explaining that prostitution isn't the issue in this case. I'm also a straight woman who dates men and I can assure you that a lot of men do not take care of themselves compared to women. A lot of women are nearly obsessive about it. I personally consider myself relatively low maintenance compared to most women I know and I still workout 5x a week, have a basic skincare regimen down, take care of my hair, try to look good, etc. Most women I know are out there spending an hour ge…

Have you guys considered that social media, materialism, narcissism are more to blame for "crazy expectations" on both sides? The more you need a lot of money to survive, for ex, the more people will care for that in a partner. The more you live in a society where only certain people are seen as valuable and attractive, the more people will value that in a partner. Maybe the issue is more systemic in that sense. Prostitution really has no major part of this. I'd say porn is to blame for a lot of…

I mean the lack of desired options can hit women in their early 20s, even, depending on where they live. It has nothing to do with your value nor desirability. It has everything to do with the men around you and their status, right? Women at that stage also have much more baggage and much less to offer for what men want for longterm commitment, yet have much longer laundry lists of wants...to the point of becoming delulu as you said. So, it becomes a double-whammy. I don't know about "baggage". …
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/24 04:23 AM

Yeah it might be anecdotal for you. I'm single and I have options but none of them are men I'd actually want to be my husband... so it just seems like a waste of their time and energy to pretend otherwise. I have friends in their 40s who have options, they just don't like their options either. I do think for some of them, it's their own delusion about themselves, but some of it is because where we live, it's a bit harder for women I think (a looot easier for men compared to other places). A lot …
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 10:54 PM

This isn't true though. I've met a lot of guys who don't even want kids, or are fine dating older, or what ever else.

I really think it depends on how you look and how you age, honestly. I'm almost in my mid 30s and literally men think I'm 24-25 and I'm not exaggerating. I thought I was aging poorly but the feedback I get from other people is I look a lot younger (like a decade younger). Maybe I just lucked out but I know I had awkward times in my 20s, and I think some women tend to look better in their 30s than a lot of their 20s because maybe they just had a lot of facial fat in their 20s. white women... yeah…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 09:01 PM

Male sperm degrades every year. I don't look to 40+ year olds when I date. I want kids, I'm not looking to have them with 40+ year old men.

I'm in my 30s and the truth is that there are more available single men when you're younger, that's just a fact. I don't think any "wall" has to do with your desirability but more so that there are fewer options as you get older, especially if you have higher standards or don't want someone who's been divorced already or someone who's had a ton of relationships. I attract guys who are younger than me (seriously, most recently, the youngest was A DECADE younger than me lol and he does not care th…

No, she just looks like she was average and then manufactured herself with filler, fake hair, fake tan, and provocative clothing. She's the kind of girl I'd see in the change room who looks nothing like her post-grooming and post-makeup self. I'm a woman and I can tell when a woman is naturally beautiful or hot or not. The thing is, you men can't tell. That's why women continue to do the fake shit. First girl isn't gorgeous but she's naturally pretty. Second girl you can tell was never naturally…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/24 08:45 PM

Umm am I the only one who thinks they look like the same person, just the blonde has fake blonde hair and filler? The second girl just looks like a narcissistic version of the first girl. And I'm not even sure what an 8 is but I wouldn't rate her as an 8. She looks like a solid 6 to me.

"So now, I won't sleep with you that easily, you'll have to work hard for that" I think that part? I think it's weird if someone literally said this to you because I would also find that off-putting... but if she said this in a different way "I wouldn't be comfortable sleeping with someone without feeling a connection, feeling like there's respect between us and feeling there's enough commitment for me to feel OK with it" then I think that's totally fine! Maybe just a case of misunderstanding.

It's just the notion that "she must do it as soon as possible with me because she did in the past" that was in your initial post, but if you don't feel that way then it's fair.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/24 07:20 PM

It just seems like a petty thing to get caught up in. And if you're being that petty and self-centered, it makes it difficult to build a relationship with that kind of energy.

People are allowed to change their minds on how quickly they feel comfortable having sex though, and you aren't entitled to have sex with someone just because you started dating. Sex is part of a relationship and people have different speeds with it. You need to respect that.

Most women preaching on tik tok are not representative of most women as well, at least I don't believe they represent me!

I always get so grossed out seeing the old gross fat white women on 90 day fiance go for those guys. I feel so bad for those guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/24 08:46 AM

I... think this is really dumb, no offense. It sounds like you're being too picky about something that doesn't actually matter, even in equality. The reality is, men and women aren't totally equal and we find different things attractive and require different things (and some similar things) to feel secure.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/24 08:40 AM

It just sounds like this guy wasn't that into her and was being low effort... I mean honestly, she's not an attractive woman (looks or personality wise from what we see). We don't know what he's like but he doesn't sound great either. The whole text exchange was so cringey. That said, I don't think it's that hard to take the initiative. I do it with friends when it makes sense, so not sure why men have such an aversion to doing it in dating. It doesn't mean 100% of the time but guys it's OK to b…

I've literally never dated someone out of my league. I would love to know how this feels lmao. That said, I don't do casual sex and never have, and I was attracted to the men I dated. I just constantly had other people tell me or imply I could do better looks-wise, which is silly because I just need to be attracted to the man. What surprised me was people said this to me about my ex who was by all intents and purposes a "hot" guy but people still (even his friends and family) remark on my looks.…

No, sometimes your body just knows someone isn't right for you. That can be a biological thing (you have incompatible genes) or your gut knows this person wouldn't be a good partner for you or with you for what ever reason (incompatibility possibly). I do think it depends on the individual. Some women and men have unresolved trauma and they aren't aware of the pattern. Some people have worked on it a lot and can recognize the signs that something isn't a good fit. What I have noticed is average …

I think it should be de-prioritized to a certain extent, but you still need attraction. There's a reason why we feel attraction - it means something. I do think a lot of women need to stop having insane physical standards considering they aren't attractive themselves. The difference is some men just have far lower standards for that.

Nothing grinds my gears more than talking to a woman (I'm a woman too) who isn't hot who makes fun of men who aren't hot and refuses to date men who aren't hot lol. LADY, you are not attractive. Stop making fun of men who aren't hot! Unless you'd like us to start shaming how you look, too.
