Not child birth, that is the kind of misogyny that people fight against. Additionally, if men can aid women in child rearing, there is no reason why they cannot earn the same wages.

I don't understand why this sub considers its self the antithesis to women's rights. The two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can fight for a women's right to have an abortion AND fight for a man's right not to have his penis circumcised at time of birth. Its so irritating watching this sub carry on and promote this almost anti feminist culture when in reality the two groups have mutual goals. Work together. Its not a zero-sum game.

I don't think this belongs here. She may have spit on him, but he seems to have really got a step above what that sort of thing warrants. I mean punching her in the face? Plus, why wasn't he arrested? Regardless of whether what he did was justified or not, that seems bizarre. This is just a women getting assaulted and I think this should not be on this sub.

Sparta is an extremely unique society that also never allowed their women to take part in any aspect of their society. The purpose of the woman was to have babies. Lets not forget about the slaves that society held either. And women did have it worse than men, since they are held as second class citizens.

I don't understand how military conscription means men have it worse than women. I also recognize that poor men did not own land, but that in no way means they had it worse than women or even as bad as women, since A) at least they had the option to and B) a poor non-landing owning male would have been treated better than his wife would. As for marriage, it is going to change from society to society, but I have never heard of a society in which women took their 12 year old boys out to be married…

I mean the reason we celebrate women is because they as a group have been treated unfairly compared to their male counterparts. So, the idea is to make sure women understand they are not 2nd class citizens. Its retroactive celebration. Why do men need that?
