It's not a given that the kid broke frame when he shouted and threw the notebooks, but that type of behavior is risky and I wouldn't recommend it. You can also get away with that kind of shit more around lower value chicks, which these engineering students probably were. A witty comment or even just walking by with a smirk and your chin held high (maintain the high chin even after you break eye contact with the group) has a better risk/reward profile than throwing books and shouting.

It's an established fact that while the average IQ of men and women is the same, the distributions are different, i.e. men have a long bell curve, women a taller one. There are definitely certain fields where men are better suited - engineering, physics, most tech jobs, virtually all outdoor jobs. In terms of what's important in the modern world, men have an edge in many ways.
