11	Any other shattered women finding FDS “late” in life? My mother too left my abusive, alcoholic father when my sibling and I were nine years old. Her leaving and taking us with her was the best thing that could have happened to us. It is undeniably a terrible thing to have to go through this, but you can do this. Today (decades later and even just a short while after my mother left him) she is flourishing and loving life and you can do this to.
