Also becoming friends with the bartenders. If they're not cool- maybe you're in the wrong scene? But the friends I do make are through repetition of running into them and hanging out. House parties, everyone brings friends to the bar, get a huge group together to go to a music festival or rave. That kind of stuff. Alcohol lowers inhibitions.
