| 0 | Gender Studies CareerStudying women’s studies so you can then teach it is a circular loop. Only if you go on to teach in it. You could also do one of these jobs at the UN, for example: https://unjobs.org/themes/gender-analysis If you’re passionate about Mesopotamian agriculture then study on your own time as an interest. I have lots of things I read about because I’m interested (WW2 history, for example). But majoring in that would be a waste. If everyone had your approach to education you wouldn't be able to read a… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 18/08/19 05:40 AM |
| -3 | Gender Studies CareerWell, from a US perspective I get you. It might be bad ROI from a monetary standpoint. If I lived in the US I'd also consider that more. However, there are many countries where you do not pay money for a University Education, essentially negating the ROI argument. But even if we look at the US, and you pick a field based on where you'll make the most money rather than what you're passionate about, how likely are you to succeed? I think we have to judge theoretical ROI vs actual ROI. Finance migh… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 11:30 PM |
| 0 | Gender Studies CareerIt's really not. Here are some actual jobs you could apply for with a degree in gender studies. https://unjobs.org/vacancies/1565730480285 https://unjobs.org/vacancies/1565742744604 https://ngojobsinafrica.com/job/senior-gender-equality-advisor-save-children/ https://www.bmeaningful.com/jobs/jm028v93a44db/gender-equality-specialist-hq https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=0b1e250123ac7b2a&tk=1digqt9qn534v802&from=serp&vjs=3 | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 10:24 PM |
| 0 | Gender Studies CareerOh, completely missed that. My bad! Then I think selfawarewolves. | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 07:28 PM |
| -9 | Gender Studies CareerFirstly, women’s studies and gender studies are different. Secondly, it’s not a specialised degree, but a broad one in a RAPIDLY expanding field. I did a google search for “gender studies career” and this is literally the first hit. https://www.trade-schools.net/articles/gender-studies-jobs.asp | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 06:18 PM |
| 4 | Gender Studies CareerWell, the most obvious would be equality officer at corporations, CSR or something like that. The UN and it’s various sub-groups also recruit people who’ve done gender studies. You can also work with foreign aid, or certain types of journalism. Gender studies is a pretty broad degree that allows you to work in a variety of fields. Source: Career page at my local uni. | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 06:12 PM |
| 0 | Gender Studies CareerOf course it isn’t. | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 06:07 PM |
| -5 | Gender Studies CareerI’m 90% sure this did not happen. The fact that a legit uni would give you extra credits for something like this is not believable. Edit: Turns out I replied to something different than I thought! | /r/PussyPassDenied | 17/08/19 06:06 PM |
| 2 | Nice tryI mean... I was more convinced by the fact that it says it’s from The Daily Mail (MailOnline). | /r/PussyPassDenied | 12/07/19 09:18 AM |
| 1 | Sure thing, ill just go hide in this gutter till this whole thing washes over...Feel free to correct if I am wrong via too small sample data You're wrong via too small sample data. If you sort by "Year women admitted as full members" instead of alphabetically you'll see that out of 53 listed clubs, 23 admits women, 15 does not and the rest are unknown. Clearly, these clubs are not as common as they once were, though they're not that uncommon. As I said before however, it's possible that they're less common in the US and more common in the Commonwealth and parts of Europe. R… | /r/PussyPass | 27/06/19 05:19 PM |
| 2 | Sure thing, ill just go hide in this gutter till this whole thing washes over...shrug They must be rarer in the US then. It's really not that rare in Europe. In London alone for example, there are several clubs that don't admit women (list). In my own country I could name like...ten off the top of my head. And by fraterneties I meant fraternal orders, not those you see at colleges. Sorry for the confusion. | /r/PussyPass | 26/06/19 09:27 PM |
| 1 | Sure thing, ill just go hide in this gutter till this whole thing washes over...Oh sorry, I misunderstood. But yeah, there are fraterneties, the Freemasons (and similar organisations), these etc. Have you really never heard about male/female only organisations? | /r/PussyPass | 26/06/19 09:09 PM |
| 1 | Sure thing, ill just go hide in this gutter till this whole thing washes over...I mean, just googling ”women only clubs” gives quite a few. Gender specific clubs, both male and female, have been around since forever. | /r/PussyPass | 26/06/19 02:27 PM |
| 3 | What. The. Fuck.Yes, the story itself is confirmed by a quick google search. The "quote" in the picture isn't though. | /r/PussyPass | 16/06/19 02:44 PM |
| -5 | What. The. Fuck.Has any girl ever referred to themselves as “a female”? | /r/PussyPass | 16/06/19 12:17 PM |
| 6 | What. The. Fuck.You can’t possibly think that quote on the pic is real. | /r/PussyPass | 16/06/19 11:53 AM |
