Though they are some what synonymous, Sexual Abuse is spoken as a form of sexual mistreating of children. The same reason you see “Physical Abuse” of a child VS Battery/Assault when it’s an adult. It’s the same crime, but the age is the determining difference. Though the action is the same, “Abuse” infers that the perpetrator, has an obligation and a position of influence that they are, well, abusing.
