It’s a common tactic with teenagers. A less dangerous instance is asking someone out. Often they might not have the courage to go up to the person, and their friend will push them up to them so they will do it. But, the issue is that if there is interest in a men only class, why should it be considered discrimination/sexism to have it? Women can have their self-defense classes, sure why not.
